This is surprisingly low-priced for an Amarone, which almost always demand at least over $30. It's made with Corvina and Rondinella. It was dessicated for close to a hundred days in a drying-house and then vinified and stored in large oak vessels.
Like most Amarones, it is quite bold. High alcohol, juicy, some tannins (though not as much as is typical in many Amarones). This one is best classified as a juicy, softer variant of the Veronese blockbuster.
It still needs breathing time and I might not suggest cellaring it for as long as you might other Amarones, but it is nonetheless delicious and a bargain.
Pair this with duck ragout pasta or fresh figs.

What a beauty! Lovely layered red plum, allspice, anise, dried figs, cedar, cigar box, and aged leather notes linger on the palate. A gorgeous complexity, full-body, smooth and meditative. The value is borderline Tasted July 2017 by @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
