Christian Marcoux reviewed this wine as follows:

I just released the Prisoner and my oh my!! This deeeep purple wine has charming aromas of dark skin plum, ripe dark cherry and fig; add to this a touch of rose and leather. In the mouth, raspberry, blackberry, vanilla, pepper, cigar box and oak all come together in a well-balanced manner. This silky and rich magical blend shows 15,2% alc with elegance and harmony.
I really enjoyed and loved this wine!

Wineboy rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A very popular wine in Kingston Ontario (LET ME OUT!!!). Incredible nose being rich complex and powerful. On the palate loads of power and complexity with oak eventually overtaking the fruit on a long finish.
Monique Sosa rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Holy-gorgeous aromas! Why imprison jammy cassis, blueberry, plum, spice and floral notes that linger on forever? Just set it free! The palate is velvety smooth, ripe and robust! The Prisoner's flavour profile features succulent plum and anise with nuances of tanned leather, cocoa and tobacco. Enjoy with braised veal shanks. Natalie's Review

The Prisoner Wine Company Red Blend 2015, Napa Valley, California, United States: Very high alcohol on this wine, but it has the fruit heft to handle it. A robust, layered Californian red wine of solid structure and concentration. Pair with hamburgers or steak. Drink: 2017-2022. 104299 15.20% D 750 mL  $54.95 Score: 91/100. There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
