Tania Thomas rated this wine as
92/100 with the following review:
An intense Argentinean Malbec, vinified from the fruit grown in high altitude vineyards, approximately 1300 m above the sea level. Fleshy, intense and generous, bursting with big, dark fruit. Solid backbone of firm tannins, will reward 3-5 years in the cellar. If drinking now, it would make a fine choice for rib roast or slow-cooked pot roasts. Tasted September 2017. Sylvain Segard rated this wine as
91/100 with the following review:
A Malbec wine grown at high altitudes in chalky soils. This wine is dark and purple in colour. It smells and taste of ripe dark fruit and shows strong minerality. Extra-dry in character, the tannins are refined and suggests that this wine could age well. Score 91. (S.Segard, reviewed Sept 15, 2017)
Jane Staples rated this wine as
90/100 with the following review:
A full-bodied 100% Malbec crafted using grapes grown at more than 1300 m in calcareous soil. The vines survive the extreme conditions, producing this robust Malbec. The wine shows jammy plum on the nose and repeats with a touch of mint on the palate. Smooth tannins and a lovely velvety texture. Pairs well with meat stews, mushrooms and Argentinian asado.
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as
92/100 with the following review:
This is one of the first wines from Mendoza region to be tasted in France, and is one of the best high end Argentinian wines that really highlights the terroir. Medium purple colour with aromatic notes of super ripe blackberry, raspberry, cherry and a very distinct minerality note being brought in from the namesake Calcareous soil these grapes grow in. In the palate this bright Malbec evolves into an interesting mix of dark skinned plum, cherry, and salty minerals. Chalky driven soft tannins, full and fruity with hints of grilled red peppers at the back. Lip smacking and spicy.
Caitlin Coleman rated this wine as
89/100 with the following review:
These Malbec grapes are grown at 1,250 metres above sea level in calcareous soil meaning it is rich in calcium carbonate. The vines are struggling to grow in these unique and extreme conditions resulting in a robust, full bodied wine with chalky tannins and lots a character. Definitely enjoy this wine with grilled meats, stews, and anything charred!

A lovely Malbec from the Uco Valley in Argentina. Plenty of dark fruit on the nose along with some cocoa, vanilla and sweet spice. Nicely balanced tannins and acidity. A long fruit finish with some underlying smokiness. A good value wine to keep on hand for summer bbq's. Tasted April 25, 2017

Aromas of dark berries, sweet spice and a hint of smoke, with mouth watering acidity and balanced mouth feel, and a hit of pepper mid-palate.
Perfect barbecue wine!

Wow! Lip smacking yet Extra dry. Uber Chalky and well-balanced. Aptly named Calcareo after its soil. Interesting example of how soil and mouthfeel can be in harmonious relations with each other. This is a beautiful Mendoza Malbec. Deeply concentrated plum and blackberry fruit with super minerality. Declared 14.5% ABV yet perceived as medium alcohol. Pairs with lamb or beef kebabs, gourmet burgers. Drinking well on its own. Tasted on Malbec World Day April 2017. 92 points.
