Matt Steeves rated this wine as 95/100 with the following review:

Tinhorn Creek Vineyards' Oldfield Series Syrah is their ultra premium showcase wine that reflects the incredible potential that's being tapped into throughout the Golden Mile Bench in British Columbia's Okanagan Valley. With only 72 cases produced, this prized wine is a rare treat for those fortunate enough to have added a bottle or two to their cellars. Oldfield Series Syrah grapes were sourced from the hottest block on the Tinhorn Creek property, known as The Side Hill. Planted on a 45% slope at an elevation of 380m. A fall-arrest harness is recommended if you're walking this unique vineyard, especially if you're one of the lucky ones that conducts all the viticulture exclusively by hand. The 2005 Syrah shows a glorious harmony of rich and refreshing dark fruits, pepper, truffle, and plum. The concentrated and intriguing flavours are complemented by an elegant and luxurious mouthfeel. This Syrah is incredibly supple, silky smooth, and layered with the finest tannins adding further complexity and contributing the extra long finish. The 2005 Oldfield Series Syrah easily rivals any other international offering. Tasted February 2017 at the Vancouver Wine Fest. 95 points. $120 winery direct. Matt Steeves - www.quercuvino.ca

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
