Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

An inviting Merlot from California’s solid producer, Joel Gott. The bouquet is appealing - blackberry, red plum and zippy mineral notes tucked away. Fresh basil leaves an earthy finish with juicy red cherry flavours persisting. Medium acidity and body with silky tannins. Dry and enticing. Enjoy with grilled angus burgers or ribs. 89 points - tasted August 2018
Dianne Sheridan - Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This sexy Merlot from California has cherry, plum, cigar box, vanilla, oak and mocha aromas. On the palate, a long, dry, ripe berry finish. Medium to full bodied, very smooth. Acidity and tannins are well balanced. Serve with a roast beef. Too easy of a wine to drink!!
Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A pretty Cali Merlot featuring damson plum, flowers, red berries and even a hint of briar. Silky and elegant. 91 Points. (www.ottawawinejournal.com)

Joel Gott blends grapes from different California AVAs to produce wines that are well-balanced and easy-drinking. This Merlot (grapes from Lodi, Paso Robles, Napa) is rich and smooth, medium to full-bodied, with sweet cherry, smoke and vanilla aromas and flavours.
Monique Sosa rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Gorgeous ripe berry fruit on the nose paving the way for long lasting jammy berry flavours, spice, cocoa, and a hint of candied black licorice flavours. Enjoy this medium+ bodied Merlot with herbed-peach stuffed roasted pork loin. Tasted Jan 17 - @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
Jane Staples rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A smooth and sexy California Merlot. Fragrant ripe strawberries, blueberries with herbal and minty touches in a dry, velvety texture and lingering finish. A great date wine.

Aromas of blackberries, plum and vanilla. Flavours of ripe plum and some white pepper with smooth tannins and medium acidity. Medium finish. This is an easy drinking wine that would pair nicely with a roast chicken. Tasted January 15, 2017.
David Skinner rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Medium ruby. Aromas of cherry and blueberry with spicy notes. Medium full body, good acidity and balance with soft tannins. Medium finish with pleasant red fruit.

Try this with baked Brie and cranberry
Emilie Ryan rated this wine as 84/100 with the following review:

A good wine to pair with a variety of dishes…
Presentation: A reserved, understated label that could disappear on the shelf
Appearance: Medium ruby going on garnet
Nose: Dark cherries, green, spices (black pepper), red apple, dark plums
Taste: Dry, medium tannins, medium acidity, medium bodied, with notes of dark cherries and plums, spices (cloves, black pepper), earth
Finish: medium spicy finish
Overall impression: A round, spicy wine, that is not overly complex, but should pair well with vegetable and meat dishes.
Value: 2.5/5
rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Plum, violets, spice, and cherry aromas. A delicious, smooth and well balanced wine with flavours of plum, spice, and a hint of mocha. A dry, spicy finish. This Merlot would complement coq au vin or roast duck.
