Stephen Andrews reviewed this wine as follows:
Nice value priced Pinot Noir. Easy to drink. Full of lingering cherry on the finish. The description on the bottle tells the story of what is inside. As an amateur this is helpful.
I like Pinot Noir and I would defiantly buy this wine again. Great on its own.

Yum! Mocha, clove, raspberry, red cherry, coconut, vanilla, dill, cedar.
Elegant, and a slight bitter finish.

It's September 30th. I'm sitting outside. I'm not ready to give up summer. I've got a sweater on to keep the chill off. And I'm sipping this wine. I'm squeezing in my last BBQ of the season with BBQed salmon, zucchini from the garden and creamy, comforting risotto. It's too late for white wine, but it's too early for the full bodied reds.
For the record, I don't normally like pinot noir. But this wine is smooth, ripe fruits, light-to-medium bodied. Paired really well with my dessert of Lindt Blackcurrant Dark Chocolate.

Cora Beaulieu rated this wine as
87/100 with the following review:
Light-medium ruby colour. Barely noticeable aromas with this wine. Subtle but positive cherry, red berry notes with slight herbaceous/woodsy and vanilla notes present. Medium weight not very grippy. Soft and mellow flavours of cherries and berries. This is a decent wine.
Pamela Chiles rated this wine as
87/100 with the following review:
Pleasant nose of roasted beet, tart cherry and smokey notes leads to earthy, red berry and charcoal on the palate. Would be great with summer bbq fare - grilled chicken or salmon.
Jennifer Havers rated this wine as
87/100 with the following review:
Aromas are delicate and include strawberry, cherry, forest floor, warm earth. Lots of strawberry and cherry on the palate. Medium bodied, acidity is not quite as high as expected, but still somewhat balanced. Lots of fruit on the finish. Enjoy with pork.
Melanie Aubert rated this wine as
83/100 with the following review:
This wine is low on the fruit flavours and high on the earthy, minerally, forest floor notes. Could be a good match for food like lamb or veal, which share similar flavour characteristics.
Monique Sosa rated this wine as
90/100 with the following review:
A nice [full-bodied] Pinot Noir from California cool climate country- Monterrey. Key aromas and flavours show pronounced aromas of ripe (cooked) raspberry, stewed plum, mild lavender, and spice. The palate is bold and flavourful for a pinot with moderate acidity, medium+ tannins, a satiny texture and a long tangy berry finish. Tasted Jan 17 - @sommsosa | besoketastings.ca

Pale ruby. Aroma of cherry cola, grass clippings, and gentle white pepper. Tart acidity, light body, underripe red berries, green stem, with shorts finish. Score 87. (S.Segard, Reviewed Jan. 15, 2017)

A good Pinot Noir with an interesting noseā¦
Presentation: An interesting, engaging label with a touch of landscape art
Appearance: Pale garnet
Nose: A challenging and engaging nose of grass, herbs, dandelions, blueberries
Taste: Dry, low-medium tannins, high acidity, light bodied, with notes of spices, red fruit (raspberries, cherries), blueberries, mushrooms, and green pepper
Finish: medium spicy finish
Overall impression: A light, fruity noir with green and earthy undertones. Would pair well with vegetarian dishes
Value: 3/5

Jekel Pinot Noir 2014, Monterey, California, United States: Lovely cherry berry ripeness on the nose yet perfectly balanced with racy acidity on the palate. Monterey makes spectacular Pinot Noir at great prices, like this one. Pair with pasta primavera. Finishes with exotic notes of wild violets and hickory smoke. The Pinot Noir grapes for this silky Californian red wine grow in vineyards that benefit from the tempering influence of the Pacific Ocean. The vines are planted in ancient alluvial soils that were deposited by rivers and floods. Drink: 2016-2020. 27268 13.60% XD 750 mL $20.95 Score: 90/100. January 26, 2017 Top Rated Red Wine.
