Cherie Cole rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Ripe, red cherry, baking spice, violet aromas. Cherry and spice on the palate. Tannins are grippy with a bright acidity lending to a lovely, balanced wine. Pair with traditional tomato-based pasta or pizza. Tasted June 01, 2017.
Lynn van der Linde rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Heady aromas of cherries, vanilla, and baking spices, with cherry flavours, and a spicy finish.
Wonderful with a variety of pizzas. 89 pts.
Tasted June 2017.
Gwen Barton rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Medium-bodied, dry and fruit. Lots of dark berry, herbal and smokey notes. Supple and smooth. Perfect pizza wine.
Jon Steeves rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Ruby red Chianti Classico declared at 13% ABV. Medium bodied, medium plus tannins, well-balanced old-world style. Long finish with persistence of cherry, savoury herbs and delicate oak finish. Pair with tomato based pasta dishes. Tasted April 2017. 88 points
Mymi Thesingingsommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

The Castello di Gabbiano estate is located in the heart of the Chianti Classico region in Tuscany. The historical “castello” dates back from the 12th century but has been restored into a spectacular hotel which includes its own restaurant, a swimming pool, as well as the winery itself and over 100 hectares of vines and olive groves. All the winemaking work is done on the premises so guests also witness the whole process from picking grapes to bottling.
The Chianti Classico is Castello di Gabbiano’s original wine. Due to soil and terrain variances as well as a different exposure in the “Classico” vineyards, the wine is made to show ageing potential and more complexity than their Chianti.
Many rainy days prior to harvest in September of 2014 has somewhat “diluted” this wine’s ageing power, which simply means: “ready to be enjoyed”.
It is made from 90% Sangiovese, 5% Merlot and other red grapes.
Shinny ruby red in color, fresh, fruity but subtle nose with juicy red cherries, lovely toasted wood and a slightly vegetal note.
Dry, complex and earthy on the palate with a great tannin/acidity balance. Lots of red cherries, hint of smoke and dried herbs with a long finish.
Yummy
Sharon Lécuyer rated this wine as 84/100 with the following review:

Subtle aromas of ripe berries with hints of smoke. Light to medium-bodied, strong tannins full of spice. A bit short on the finish, but great sipper wine while preparing dinner. (Reviewed November 29, 2016)
Colin McKone rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

Lighter ruby in colour with aromas of black cherry, smoke and white pepper with tart cherry flavours. It is ligher bodied for a red with mouth watering acidity. This wine should be enjoyed with food such as a big plate of spaghetti or pizza.
