Stephen Andrews reviewed this wine as follows:

Tasted Nov. 20th, 2017. Colour dark ruby red. Legs medium plus. Aromas and flavours, blackcherry, black currant, bourbon, spice and smoke. Taste, dry, black fruit, mouthwatering, silky tannin. Finish, black fruit, a grip in the tannin, easy drinking. I like this wine good value, unique taste, good on its own or pair with a grilled burger and fries.

Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Dark red cherry and plum aromas with leather, cassis, and chocolate. The taste is rich dark berries, chocolate, and leather. The tannins are somewhat rounded, and fairly silky. This is a big, smooth wine, well suited for roast red meat.
Cherie Cole rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

You had me at, "aged in Bourbon barrels." Wow, this wine smells like Christmas with aromas of sweet, baking spice, vanilla bean, toffee, dates, figs and plum. Full-bodied, velvety tannins and complex flavours of dates, figs, cinnamon and clove. Tasted November 27, 2016.
Sharon Lécuyer rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

Ruby colour and long legs on this wine. Toasty tobacco with vanilla aromas. Smooth on the palette with medium to full tannins.
Jennifer Havers rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Aromas of dark fruit, spice and leather, with a hint of tobacco and vanilla. Smooth, balanced tannins. Lots of dark fruit and spice on the palate, and a bit of pepper on the finish. Enjoy with a nice steak.
Sylvain Segard rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Great aroma of ripe fruit, fresh cut tobacco, and mint. The silky tannins, flavours of dark chocolate, leather, and juicy dark berries flavours are followed by a medium and mildly peppery finish, which shows off the Bourbon barrels ageing. A great buy, which will enhance your favourite cut of beef. Score 90. (reviewed Nov. 27, 2016).
Luc Delorme rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Wonderful nose of ripe cherries and plums that belie the acidity that is uncommon in California Cabs. Wonderfully rich taste of ripe berries and plums with a great vanilla finish from the bourbon casks. Well-controlled tannins and pleasing acidity balance out this luscious wine very well. This would be ideal with a hearty spaghetti Bolognese or a meat lasagna. Yum!
Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

The Robert Mondavi Winery Private Selection Bourbon Barrels Cabernet Sauvignon is delightful. There are big aromas of dark chocolate, coffee, dark berries, leather and oak - the palate does not disappoint with all if these flavors coming through. Aging the wine in Bourbon barrels was both creative and impressive, adding to the full flavor - the tannins are young - but a great wine to pair with smoked cheese or bbq ribs.
Matt Steeves rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This limited release Private Selection label Cabernet Sauvignon from iconic Californian winery, Robert Mondavi, is one you don't want to miss, especially if you're a big fan of California Cab and Kentucky Bourbon! Robert Mondavi winery crafted this 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon from grapes grown in Southern Monterey County and do they ever burst with notes of sweet dark berries, dark cherry, chocolate, espresso, and vanilla each in great concentration. The wine spent the better part of a year in Bourbon barrels which is to thank for its rich and juicy texture with noticeable youthful tannins making this a great wine to enjoy with BBQ grilled meat. The Bourbon barrel influence gives this popular style of wine an extra dimension that's sure to be enjoyed by many especially when paired with baby back ribs, or to finish a fine meal with a decadent cinnamon chocolate torte with whipped cream on top - now we're talking! Enjoy 2016-2020. Tasted November 2016. 90 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
