Monique Sosa rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Gorgeous ripe berry fruit (raspberry & blueberry), sweet winter baking spices, and a touch of black tea notes are most prominent. This wine is showing clean developing aromas and flavours with moderate acidity, ripe (integrated) tannins, and a long minted berry finish. Enjoy this full bodied wine with finger licking good ribs! Jon Steeves rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This single vineyard 100 year old vineyard Zin from California's Alexander Valley, vintage 2012 is a deeply concentrated ruby red and a whopping 15.9% ABV. Bottled May 2014, this wine is showing well. With high relative alcohol, high fruit, high tannins, and moderate acidity, this wine is well balanced and wonderful on the nose and palate. A sophisticated wine which pairs well with braised beef baked lasagna, pulled pork topped nachos, or easily in its own. This wine is easy to love and is sure to please Zin lovers. An easy buy-by-the-case recommendation for the Cali Zin aficionado. Tasted Nov 2016 - @jonsteeves rated 92/100 - bespoketastings.ca
