Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

A beautiful, deep garnet colour with flecks of ruby. The bouquet features blackberries, cherries, anise, tobacco, leather and a cedary wooden spices. A scrumptious, grippy mouthfeel that balances the fruit and spice notes equally. Medium plus acidity, body and tannins. Dry and nicely polished. Decant 2-4 hours and pair with veal parmigiana, olives and salami antipasto. Drink now but can age gloriously 5+ yrs. - tasted December 2017
Alex & Priya rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Priya: Spicy like a mulled wine. Coats your throat like cough syrup--in a good way! A great vintage in Montalcino we're told by the winery rep, "Has that concentration and intensity". A bit bitter on the finish but super ripe.

Alex: Incredible richness indeed! Layer upon layer of black cherry and savoury decadence. Clove, nutmeg, thyme and sage all over the palate. A spice cupboard with super sappy fruit and a powerful structure to age.

Priya: So basically you're saying the same thing that I did, but in 'wine talk'?

Alex: Yep. That's right.
