Thelema Mountain Red offers great value with its South African (Bordeaux-ish style) blend of Petit Verdot (28%), Merlot (27%), Shiraz (25%), Cabernet Sauvignon (12%), Grenache (7%), and Cabernet Franc (1%), The nose offers fragrant plum, cherry, dark chocolate, cedar, leather, and pencil shavings. Soft and elegant, with modest acidity and rounded tannins that will complement braised beef dishes and firm cheese. Plum, mocha, and cedar persist on the finish. At $13 this a great weekday wine that's well suited for a Saturday evening meal too. Tasted February 2017. 89 points. Matt Steeves - www.quecusvino.ca

This is a flavourful, well-balanced red blend of mostly petit verdot (28), merlot (27), and shiraz (25), with some cabernet sauvignon (12) and small amounts of Grenache (7) and cabernet franc (1). The nose offers a nice mix of ripe cherry, plum, and red and black berry fruit, oak (smoke, vanilla, toast, dill) spice (black pepper, anise, nutmeg, cumin), and touches of leather, eucalyptus, and cedar. The palate is similar, but the fruit is more cherry and cassis, and some cocoa comes out. The spice element replays nicely. The wine is medium-full bodied, with moderate acidity, decent tannin structure, and slight alcohol warmth. Will pair well with a variety of grilled meats. Tasted Jan. 2017.

Deep red and clear.
On the nose it has tons of dark berry, dark chocolate and pencil shaving.
In the mouth it has dark chocolate and berry overtones with some alcohol at the finish.
Nice finish overall. Pretty good value for summer BBQ's and grilled veggies, some Oka or a beautiful Pecorino.
Drink now to 2 years.
