Melanie Lloyd rated this wine as 84/100 with the following review:

Aromas of blackberry, leather, violet, white pepper, and black current jam. I was pleasantly surprised by the slight aroma of black tea. The tannins are still noticeable considering it is a 10 year old wine but it should be enjoyed soon. Suggested food pairings: Duck with a berry sauce; Braised beef. Tasted March 2017.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Aromas of plum, blueberry, cedar, and white pepper in this dark garnet wine. The taste is spicy and smoky black cherry with slightly rounded grippy tannins. There's a nice long earthy cherry finish. I'm pairing this with a bacon and olive pizza and it complements it perfectly.
Sharon Lécuyer rated this wine as 84/100 with the following review:

Subtly smokey nose. Palette is smooth, medium to high tannins. Great for a wine and cheese party.
Jennifer Havers rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Lots of bright red fruit on this blend, along with some white pepper. Medium to full bodied, plush berry flavours and an almost briny note. Try with roasted pork tenderloin or charcuterie.
rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Red currants, blueberries, and white pepper on the nose. This Spanish Gran Reserva is 24 months in the barrel and the result is a delicious dry wine that would complement a charcuterie board with aged dry cheeses, jamon serrano, and sun-ripened olives, roast duck or lamb stew.
Mary Anne van Gaal rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This nicely balanced Spanish blend of Garnacha, Tempranillo and Carinena has a beautiful purple colour. Aromas of ripe berries and mulled spice are followed by a palate of cherry, oak and pepper. This would pair well with a lighter roasted meat like pork, turkey or chicken.

Natalie's Review

Monasterio De Las Viñas Gran Reserva 2007, Cariñena D.O., Spain: A mouth-watering, delicious Spanish red. Full-bodied, but not heavy with notes of ripe dark red fruit. this wine is a blend of Grenache (otherwise known as Grenache), Tempranillo, Cariñena and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. This Gran Reserva is a rare opportunity to taste mature Spanish wine, a rare treat . Pair with veal. Drink: 2010-2017. 82024 13% D 750 mL  $17.95 Score: 90/100. January 8, 2017 Best Value Red Wine.
