A Napa Valley, California Merlot which will rock your wine world with a perfumed nose of raspberry jam, vanilla and milk chocolate. The lush palate gives loads of raspberry pie, milk chocolate and baking spices. Dry and satiny smooth, with excellent acidity, beautifully nuanced, plus a lingering finish-hard to put this one down. A great gift wine. Enjoy with roast wild boar and spicy mustard.

Deeply coloured, nearly black, this richly flavoured Napa Merlot screams of cassis/black currant, ripe dark plum, blackberry, and sweet vanilla spice. Full bodied with huge flavour from the medley of sweet dark berries, vanilla, and spice. Beautifully balanced, this Napa gem would be ideal with grilled lamb lollipops or charcoal grilled beef tenderloin. Tasted July 2016. 94 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca

Beringer Merlot 2014, Napa Valley, California, United States: Toasty oak with tasty dark chocolate and black plum aromas and flavours in this iconic Californian red wine. Fairly smooth though decanting for 2 hours will help. Soul soothing and heart quickening. Finishes with black plum and dark spice. Concentrated, deep and satisfying. Pair with roast beef.
