Eamonn Donnelly reviewed this wine as follows:
Hailing from the windswept Greek island of Santorini, Assyrtiko is a white grape that thrives in volcanic soils. Prominent citrus notes are interlaced with delicate white floral aromas, flint and saline. The wine is dry with lots of bright acidity. Tangy lemon/lime flavours, bitter salted almond and green apple. Very refreshing - great beach wine. Calls for briny shellfish and lighter, simple fish dishes.

Minerality and citrus on the nose with hints of spice. Very fresh, as if I was smelling the ocean. Very tart on the palette, with flavours of lime and white grapefruit.
Shellfish would be an excellent pairing. To compliment the sourness, I would choose dishes that incorporate some saltiness. Think prosciutto wrapped asaparagus on the BBQ or lobster rolls with fennel.

Gorgeous floral and citrus aromas. On the palate there is bright acidity, tart lemon drop, red apple, minerality, white pepper and a hint of the Aegean salinity. Picture yourself on the Greek Islands as you sip this one with appetizers or seafood.

Pale gold in colour. Retrained notes of grilled almonds, floral nuances and lemon feature on the nose. Lively and refreshing on the palate, with a lean, steely character and nutty, citrus flavours lingering on the finish. Unoaked. Great apéritif white.

Lots of citrus, pear and floral on the nose. Rich flavors of lemon and lime zest, a notable vibrant acidity and a steely minerality that lingers on the palate. The grapes are grown on volcanic soil, thus the smokey undertone.

Silex nose. Nice acidity. Mineral retro. Not the longest in the mouth but quite interesting. Good companion for "moules frites"

Lemon-lime and white grapefruit on the nose with notes of salty minerality. Mouthwatering citrus flavours with a lovely salinity on the finish. This would pair well with flakey white fish or seafood salad. Tasted March 2017.

Greek wines are always standouts - they have a hint of bitterness and a saline edge that is very enticing. This assyrtiko is typically light-bodied with grapefruit pith or peel and mouthwatering acidity that demands pairing with shellfish or seafood - like grilled octopus or oysters - classic.

This is a highly acidic wine with a fine line of salinity running through it. Lots of citrus; lemon, lime and grapefruit aromas. A bit of bitter almond on the palate and a long mouth watering finish. I'm picturing a glass beside a plate of oysters and sitting on a Santorini beach. Tasted November 29, 2016.

Smells and tastes like the beach! Light and citrus, with a lingering grapefruit finis. Perfect with garlic dishes, including white fish, octopus or gyros.

A lovely discovery on the LCBO general list, providing a great example of the finds you can get out of the Vintages offerings.
Medium-intense aromas of Meyer lemon zest, acacia, honeysuckle, cantaloupe, slight salinity.
On the palate, white nectarine, lemon, honeyed notes and a bitter almond / mineral finish, with well-balanced acid and alcohol. Medium+ almost creamy finish, this is more opulent than most Assyrtiko.
Great value. Tasted October 2016.
Jane Staples rated this wine as

Light, crisp and very dry, with intriguing salinity, herbal touches and minerality. Made from grapes grown on the ancient volcanic soils of Greece's Santorini Island. Excellent hot weather wine. Enjoy with grilled squid or salads.

Santo Assyrtiko 2015, Santorini PDO, Greece: Crisp and fresh with aromas of lime zest, lanolin, lemon and grapefruit. The Assyriko grape is vibrant and alive in the glass, very Santorini and a child of volcanic soils. Perfect for fresh seafood and shellfish.
