Aromas of dark fruit and tobacco with a hint of smoke on the nose. The flavours of dark cherry and plum. Well balanced tannins and long finish. Would pair well strong cheeses, braised meats.

A rich and opulent Cabernet Sauvignon from the 2014 vintage. Deeply concentrated red fruit with velvety medium tannins, medium acidity, medium plus body. Declared 13.5% ABV. Integrating alcohol. Mocha, cacao, red and black berry with a hint of mint. Drinking well on it's own and ready to pair with gourmet BBQ burgers or grilled pork tenderloin. Tasted Jan 2017. Rated 90/100. Lori Kilmartin WSET3 rated this wine as
90/100 with the following review:
This juicy fruit forward Cabernet spent 14 months in American oak. The result is silky, opulent tannins, slightly herbaceous, spice and lots of blackberry and black cherry fruit. A very well balanced wine with a long fruit finish. A great bbq wine with burgers or steak! Tasted June 2016
Mary Anne van Gaal rated this wine as
89/100 with the following review:
This juicy cabernet sauvignon is made with grapes from a vineyard located in the foothills of the southern part of the Columbia Valley giving it a surprisingly low sugar amount of 3-4 grams. It was then aged 14 months in oak. Aromas of cherry and light spice with flavours of dark berries and oak. It would pair nicely with roast leg of lamb.

14 Hands Cabernet Sauvignon 2014, Columbia Valley, Washington, United States: The horses on the label are a tribute to the wild horses that once roamed the Hose Heaven Hills wine region. They were approximately 14 hands tall: small but sturdy and strong, known for their unbridled strength and freedom. Aromas of coffee, mocha and spice as well as fleshy blackberry. The wine is aged in American oak barrels for 14 months and that that provide a succulently rich/sweet frame and carry the tannins to an excellent place of balance. The wine is very approachable. Pair with a rare steak. Drink: 2015-2021. 70573 13% XD 750 mL $18.95 Score: 90/100. March 18, 2017 Best Value Red Wine. Full Review
