Jon Steeves rated this wine as
92/100 with the following review:
Big and bold. Robust in the mouth, charred barrel smokiness, ripe plum, blackberry, baking spices. Long finish, persistence of dark fruit and spice. Medium acidity, medium tannins, smooth integrated. Well balanced. Paired well with seared rare beef tenderloin, baby potatoes with pan fried capers. Tasted 2012 vintage in Sept 2017 after decanting 2h. Wonderful wine and good value. 92 points. Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as
89/100 with the following review:
This wine holds lots of promise for drinking in the future. Lovely leather and smoke on the nose and palate. Tannins are still firm and there is a slight chalkiness in the mouth. Needs food - saucy beef or strong cheeses. Tasted December 2016.

There's loads of high-quality barrel-ageing aromatics straight off the top in this evidently ambitious wine, delivering cacao bean and mocha in the young Bordeaux style. But the palate offers the depth, weight, structure and balance to see this fully integrate in time, another 4-6 years or so I'd suspect. This should emerge as a very fine mature wine. Tasted (blind) at the WWAC August 2015.
June 2016: evolving as expected, but slowly. Revisit in 2020.

This is deeply coloured Bordeaux with lifted coffee, blackberry, chocolate and spice aromas. Wood is dominant but it really is quite engaging aromatics if not classic Bordeaux. It has weight and density, with considerable oak. Some greenness as well. Quite voluptuous, with a roasted oak and vaguely iodine like finish. Very good to excellent. Last tasted June 2016

Boisé, tant au nez qu'en bouche, mais avec beaucoup de matière, le fruit est là qui maintient l'équilibre. Finale un peu asséchante, cependant.

This is a very modern St Emilion with lots of mocha, dark chocolate and warm spice interwoven with the smokey black cherry fruit with sweet tobacco aromas. The palate is full bodied with the fruit balanced by soft acidity and dry tannin, there is a coffee flavour to the berry fruit. It is not all yet integrated, so I think another year or two of bottle age will help more complexity develop and the tannins to soften. Best 2018 to 2022. Tasted May 2016.
