Antinori's wine in Napa. The wine is for sure well made but I dont it inherits the old-world characteristics of antinori. I still find the juice to be over-ripe and lack of finess.
Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Black cherry, pepper, leather, tobacco, cedar, and glycerin highlight this lovely Cali Cab. Tight and compact, it will need a few years to even out. Very grippy. 93 Points. (www.ottawawinejournal.com)
Jon Steeves rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Deep ruby red, declared ABV 14.1% . Tightly structured Napa Cabernet Sauvignon, robust full bodied, big silky tannins, concentrated red berry, Blackberry fruit, baking spices. Elegant and complex with a big backbone. Pair with a seared steak, or braised beef. Tasted Jan 2017 after decanting 4 hours. Rated 93/100. Bespoketastings.ca
Pamela Chiles rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Nose a bit closed, needed quite a bit of swirling to open up and find wild blackberry, subtle, sweet spice, hints of old leather, herb, tobacco leaf. More of that plus ultra-dark chocolate and mint on the palate, 80-grit tannins - but still comes across as elegant, not overpowering. I feel like this is a caged lion - leave it a few years and then release the beast.
Monique Sosa rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Where rustic meet finesse! An intriguing and alluring berry, earthy underbrush and baking spice notes. The palate shows long lasting rustic of dark chocolate, tobacco, black cherry and baking spice. Tannins are still developing showing a moderate but integrated level of chewiness. Acidity is superbly balanced. Enjoy this gorgeous full-bodied wine with braised beef lasagna. Melanie Aubert rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

There is a lot going on in this wine. The producer is one of the greats of Italian winemaking and has branched out to the Napa Valley. This full-bodied cab sauv is a gorgeous deep ruby red colour and boasts red cherry, raspberry, blackberry, vanilla, cocoa, tobacco, cedar as well as moderate yet well-integrated tannins and a medium-long blackberry finish. Pair with grilled red meats or hearty winter stews.
Jennifer Havers rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This wine has a bit of everything going on - smokey, savory, nice deep fruit. On the nose there is a bf of smoke, ripe berry, cassis, and almost a briny note (black olives). Full bodied, spicy pepper on the palate, followed by berries, olives, and a bit of leather. Delicious, enjoy with a steak.
Greg Hughes rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Antinori's venture in the famed Atlas Peak district of The Napa Valley. 2013 was an amazing year for most of California. The 2012 Antica was bright and pretty, but this one has more brooding spice and savouriness.
The Alcohol is 14.1, so it is somewhat glasscoating. It has a very nice ruby red with a dark core.
The aromas have an lovely floral fragrance. Lavender and petunia. It is somewhat earthy and has lots of structure on the nose.
The flavours are an extremely skillful melding of ripe red and black fruit with very tasteful, toasty oak (more new oak than usual, for this one). It has a juiciness that comes from the grapes being carefully picked when it was cool. This helps preserve the aromatics.
Drink this on its own as a contemplative sipper. It's a meal on its own.
rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Mint, eucalyptus, olives, and cigar box aromas. Flavours of blueberry , leather and sun dried olives with a very dry and tannic mouthfeel. Dark and oh so dry this needs to be savoured with juicy steak. Cellar this!
David Skinner rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Deep ruby colour. Black currant, plum, blackberry and chocolate with earthy overtones. Full bodied with grippy tannins and good acidity. Plenty of red ripe fruit to taste along with a lengthy finish.

Great with an earthy dish like wine-poached mushrooms topped with goat chees brule and olive tapenade.
Bill Wright Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Smoke from beginning to finish. Full of tart cherry and dark fruit. Long, lingering finish with cedar and ripe fruit.
This calls for more.

Brought out the best in both the blue cheese and 4 year old cheddar
Emilie Ryan rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

A big wine!
Presentation: A classy, somewhat subdued label
Appearance: Dark ruby
Nose: A pronounced nose of dark fruit (dark cherries, blackberries, blueberries), anise, cigar box, blackcurrant leaf, tobacco, leather
Taste: Dry, high, grippy tannins, high acidity, full bodied, with notes of blueberries, earth, leather
Finish: Long, grippy tannin finish with dark fruit and earth
Overall impression: A big wine that grips your mouth and won’t let go. It probably needs a few more years to relax, maybe 3 or 4 years. It needs big, flavourful foods such as meat lasagna…
Value: 2/5
Lori Kilmartin WSET3 rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

The Antinori family well known for their wines from Tuscany and Umbria bought this vineyard in the mid-80's. This is a powerful Cabernet with beautiful aromas of blackberry, smoke, leather and cassis. Complex flavours of dark fruit and dark chocolate. Full bodied with velvety tannins and a long luscious finish with a cigar box ending (and not in a bad way!). Pair this with a grilled steak medium rare and a bit of blue cheese butter. My mouth is watering already. Tasted January 15, 2017.
