a nice fruity style PN which is more reminiscent of New Zealand than Oregon. Clean well made with none of the earthy elements one finds in PN. A good wine.

Simple and pleasing with lots of ripe juicy cherry, raspberry and a little earthy mushroom and spice notes. Rounds out with fine, silky tannins and a decent fresh cherry/raspberry finish. Very versatile food wine.
Melanie Aubert rated this wine as
91/100 with the following review:
Light ruby red, with aromas of black cherry, vanilla and tobacco. On the palate, its medium body shows beautiful spice and cigar box notes on top of cherry. Racy acidity make this wine super food friendly. Try it with pulled pork or just on its own. It is veeeeery drinkable.

Juicy black cherries nose with pepper and musty notes. This is a sumptuous wine with soft tannins and ample acidity to support grilled fish, risotto or steak and mushroom. sauce

Alluring pronounced black cherry, blueberry and spice notes. A superb Willamette Valley Pinot Noir with tangy acidity, deeply concentrated flavours, ripe tannins and a long sweet spice mocha finish. Enjoy with pibil pork tacos. Tasted Mar 2017 by @sommsosa / bespoketastings.ca
Jacky Blisson rated this wine as
91/100 with the following review:
Watery ruby colour. Elegant, moderately complex aromas of cranberry, tea leaf and earthy notes feature on the palate. Brisk acidity and fairly firm structure, on this medium bodied, lightly oaked red. Fresh, moderately chewy tannins frame the finish nicely.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as
90/100 with the following review:
Smoky raspberry and tart cherry aromas. The taste is ll tart cherry and raspberry with fine, grippy tannins and high acidity. This is a very food friendly wine that would pair especially well with cheeses.
Jonathan rated this wine as
84/100 with the following review:
The 2012 was much better and cheaper. Not worth the $30. Light texture, not as silky as I had hoped. Nice fruit on the front, tannin finish.
Jon Steeves rated this wine as
90/100 with the following review:
Bright ruby red, well balanced Oregon Pinot with great acidity, medium tannins, mouthwatering. Fantastic paired with Broiled Pacific salmon steak and roasted heirloom veggies. Tasted Feb 2017. Rated 90/100.
Melissa Pulvermacher reviewed this wine as follows:
2014 was a great winemaking year in Oregon and a lot of the Pinots I’ve had from this vintage tend to be deep in colour and bigger than usual because of the longer growing season and dry/warm summer.
Approximately 20% of this wine was aged in oak barrel, 10% being new French oak for approximately 9 months.
On the nose, bright cherry, indicative of cool climate Pinot with added notes of violet and bramble. On the palate, ripe red fruit with a great backbone from the natural acidity and soft tannin. This wine finishes long and absolutely over-delivers on quality.
For a retail price of $29.95, this wine offers incredible value. I often say it can be tough to find well-made Pinot Noir for less than $30 and in this case, Domaine Drouhin is reaching beyond and delivering a great product worth every penny.
