A more serious, polished, wood-inflected Valpolicella here, heavier and more concentrated than the mean, with ripe, soft tannins and plush texture. Fruit remains faithful to the red berry spectrum, and the length is very good. A solid, well-made example all in all. Tasted May 2016. Value Rating: **1/2

Inviting, yummy and awesomely priced Ripasso. I am enjoying this wine after being opened for day and the aromas are still pronounced, showing developing notes of stewed blackberry, black cherry and plums. Hints of floral notes and baking spice also reveal itself after a swirl in the glass. The palate is rich with concentrated berry notes, baking spice (nutmeg and all spice), dark chocolate, cedar smoke and leather. Even after being uncorked for a day, this wine is still quite grippy but ripe with high acidity to complement it's balance. The alcohol integration could be a touch smoother though. Enjoy this full bodied wine with braised beef lasagna. @sommsosa

Ruby red, full-bodied and soul searchingly deep in aromatics and on the palate. This is a great ripasso with lots of soul. Balanced, integrated with fruit, alcohol, acidity and tannins. High cocoa dark chocolate, ripe plums, blackberry and black cherry with baking spices and an earthy leather with ripe black cherry persistence with a long finish. Enjoy this with Classic tomato-based pasta dishes, veal Parmesan, BBQ porterhouse steak or braised meat dishes. @jonsteeves rated 89/100- tasted May 2016

Displays strong aromas of plum, blackberry, cassis & baking spice with grippy tannins and dark fruit flavours including plum, cherry and baking spices. A perfect pairing for tomato based pasta dishes.

Blackberry, ripe cherry, toasted oak, cigar smoke and sage greet the nose when you introduce yourself to this Valipolicella Ripasso (2014). This is fine medium-bodied, food-friendly wine with high acidity and grippy tannins. It has a long finish that replays the blackberry, wood and savoury notes.
Would pair well with Gnocchi in tomato sauce or sharp cheeses.

Ripe plum, smoke, and a touch of baking spice. The taste is bright and fruity with grippy tannins and a decent acidity. Perfect for tomato based pastas.

Giuseppe Campagnola Ripasso Della Valpolicella Classico Superiore 2014, Veneto D.O.C., Italy: Tannic with tart black fruit. Great price for this tasty Italian red wine with spice-black fruit aromas. It's full-bodied, supple, and smooth wine. A terrific party wine for sure to please many palates, or have a big feed of spaghetti and meatballs, or both. Mocha on the finish. Pair with hard cheeses and boisterous conversations. Drink: 2016-2019. 313486 13.50% D 750 mL $21.95 Score: 87/100. June 5, 2016 Plush Pork Wine Full Review
