Deep red and clear.
Nose of dark chocolate and blackberry. Medium bodied and a tad on the sweet side. Pleasant fruit to tannin overall.
Pair with lamb and grilled stuffed Portobellos.

Bright plum, sweet cherry, an milk chocolate aromas. Quite fragrant. A silky mouth-feel, with medium fairly rounded tannins, and flavours of plum and cherry. Medium cherry finish. A solid, very well balanced wine.

Ruby, orange flecked colour. Moderately intense nose, with milk chocolate, sweet cherry and violet notes. Bright acidity lifts the sweet fruit on the palate. The texture is smooth and fleshy, with firm, ripe tannins on the finish.
David Skinner rated this wine as
90/100 with the following review:
Light ruby pink rim. Plum, cherry, spice and vanilla on the nose. More luscious fruit and mocha on the palate. Medium tannins, luscious acidity and great balance. A long finish with a nice blend of fruit and oak character.
This would go nicely with escargot and short ribs en croutes.

The nose offers up notes of coffee and ripe plums. The palate opens up the flavors with subtle notes of plum, blackberry and baking spice. Pair with meatloaf or spaghetti and meatballs.

A lovely combination of floral and cooked plum aromas with notes of mocha and spice. The tannins are smooth with plum, chocolate and vanilla on the palate. Full-bodied and succulent. Tasted April 3, 2016.
Alex & Priya rated this wine as
84/100 with the following review:
Priya: I like the candy notes that I smell here. It's got a beautiful, deep, garnet hue--my birthstone! Doesn't taste candied at all, much drier than I'd anticipated. Also a bit more rustic than I expect from a merlot. Not bad but not as fruity as I'm used to with my merlots. 86pts
Alex: Candied indeed on the nose Priya, lots of wood here with coconut, nutmeg and chocolate strewn over a raspberry and plum pie. Supple and raspberry-focused palate, with too much coconut-chocolate, and not enough acidity and complexity for my liking. 81pts
Jennifer Havers rated this wine as
89/100 with the following review:
Aromas of plum, blackberry, cocoa and a hint of vanilla. Smooth, full bodied, lots of plum and blueberry on the palate. Smooth tannin, medium to long finish. I would try this with prime rib.
Sylvain Segard rated this wine as
91/100 with the following review:
Plum jam and baking spices. Chocolate moka. Round, voluptous mouthfeel. Balanced acidity. A solid merlot to enjoy on its own, with a cheese tray, or with a boeuf bourgignon.
Donna Hargrove rated this wine as

Strong notes of plum on the nose, with a delicious blend of vanilla, cocoa and baking spice on the palate. Smooth clear finish that begs for another sip. Wonderful wine with a beef bourgignon.

Plum pudding in a glass! Dark plum, vanilla, cocoa, and nutmeg carry through to a persistent and warm plum finish. A beautiful expression of Cabernet Sauvignon from Washington. Wonderful with hors d'oeuvres and friends!
Tasted 3 April 2016.

This Merlot is from the Wahluke Slope, Grant County, Washington - the area is well known for its dry, warm climate thus the great results - there is lots of plum and black cherry on the nose with spicy pepper and mocha on the palate. Wonderful pairing to braised short ribs.
Mary Anne van Gaal rated this wine as
89/100 with the following review:
This is one bold Merlot. Cherry and pepper notes fill the nose while juicy plum, cherry, and herbs fill the mouth. I would love this paired with a rack of lamb.
