Dark ruby in colour with plenty of aromas wafting from the glass. Dark cooked fruit; blackberry and black cherry, leather and smoke. Well balanced tannins and acid with a smooth mouthfeel and a long fruit finish. I paired this with a Balderson Double smoked cheese and it was a great match. In fact, it would be a "crime" not to try this wine and cheese together!! Tasted November 27, 2016

Awash with cherry and blackberry, hints of burnt caramel, smoke, smooth tannins and enough acidity to prevent gooeyness; long-ish finish with a hint of green leaf. Stew please!

Full-bodied Australian Shiraz with ripe blueberries and a little mocha on the nose. The blueberries continue on the palate with lots of tingly pepper. Extra-dry and mouth-watering, although I find too much pepper on this one for me.

Interesting blend. Durif is often refered to in California and in the Rhône as Petit Syrah (not to be confused with Petit Sirah - a small berried clone of Shiraz). Shiraz is one of Petit Syrah's parent, the other is thought to be Peloursin - another obscure grape often confused as a myriad of other varietals.
Colour is lighter than expected - bright ruby.
Aromas have an elevated cassis and pomegranate note. There's some gaminess, smoke, and leather too.
The flavours are pretty well centred around the red fruit. Cherry, more cassis, and raspberry. There is a firm finish of dried herbs and tobacco. Some dark chocolate. Pleasant and interesting.
Progenitor and offspring are combined in this blend to provide a well structured, fruity red that doubles as a cool conversation piece. This wine is a chance to drink a family reunion.

Aromas are quite ripe. Blueberry and raspberry jam, a drizzle of dulce de leche, and a sprinkling of dried mint. A bit of white peppercorn comes out eventually as well. It grows on me!

Plum and dried blueberry aromas with a little dried herb as well. The taste is smooth blackberry and plum with some nice rounded tannins. The finish is very long and mainly meaty plum.
