Plush Barolo - chocolate, fig, baking spice (clove, allspice, nutmeg)
Alex & Priya rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Alex: A quasi-modern Barolo from an early drinking vintage is the '11 Terre del Barolo base cuvee. Features a fresh, high-toned nose of rose petal, black cherry liqueur, grand marnier ,mint and dark chocolate, with sprinkles of turmeric. Zesty, silky and mineral-driven palate that's finely perfumed and balanced, flowing seamlessly into a cherry and mint chocolate finish of good length for the price. Less tannin than you'd expect from a Barolo makes this suitable for early drinking, now or within 7 years. Good value here. 90pts
Philippe Perreault rated this wine as 79/100 with the following review:

Made of Nebbiolo(100%)

Deep garnet color.

Aromas of clove, plum, cherry and rose flower.

This red is round, medium-bodied and long.

Pair it with Parmigiano veal.

Serve it at 15-17 degrees.

Ready to drink.
Jennifer Havers rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Aromas of smoke, tobacco, cedar, a little gamey or meaty and even a floral note on here. Flavours carry though on the palate with some nice acid, and some medium tannin. Long finish. I would love to enjoy this with charcuterie and cheese.
Jacky Blisson rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

Pale ruby/ garnet. Surprisingly fruit driven Barolo, with red cherry, plum, spice and soft, leathery notes. Medium bodied, with fresh acidity, lots of juicy red cherry flavour and medium, chewy tannins. Not a grand Barolo, but very drinkable.
Mary Anne van Gaal rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

The medium red colour foreshadows the complexity if this wine, Dark cherry and floral notes greet the nose and flavours of ripe fruit and herbs fill the palate. Cheeses, cured meats and steak would all be wonderful with this wine.
Donna Hargrove rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Young leather and black cherry on the nose, followed by blackberry and spice on the palate. A smooth finish with medium tannins. This earthy wine would pair quite well with steak or a nice medium spiced dish.

Gwen Barton rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Initial bouquet of leather and earthiness soon make way for big jammy fruit nose and taste. Tannins are there- very enjoyable. Excellent price point for this King of Wines! Steak, mushrooms and some big cheeses.
Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Lots of leather and ink on the nose. Dark fruit, cherry, leather and spice on the palate. Tannins not as apparent, more fruit forward than I expected, sour cherry finish.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Aromas of India ink, young black cherry, cocoa and new leather. The taste is wonderful, with the cherries coming through as well as the cocoa. The mouth-feel is extremely silk with just the right amount of tannin. Long tart cherry finish. This is a perfect wine for a charcuterie platter.
Carola Price rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Earthy and rich but still maintains a medium body. Good overall.
Pair with grilled mushrooms with blue cheese sauce and grilled bread.
Drink now or hold 5 years.
Bill Wright Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A little closed with subtle notes of cherries. Dark fruit and nice mild tannins. Spice and sour fruit on the finish.

Emilie Ryan rated this wine as 83/100 with the following review:

A decent Barolo…
Presentation: Makes me think of Church on Easter
Appearance: Light-medium ruby red
Nose: Leather, vanilla
Taste: leather, tannic, burned caramel
Finish: A tannic finish of leather and burned caramel
Overall impression: A good Barolo that should pair well with red sauce pasta dishes, darker meats.
Value: 2.5/5
Wineboy rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Lovely more modern Barolo with a touch less tannins and a touch more fruit. I gave this wine 2 extra point for the quality/price ratio, and took one away for not having the full range of aromas Nebbiolo can offer - but these could appear later.
