Cora Beaulieu rated this wine as
88/100 with the following review:
Intense dark and ruby in color. This blend has concentrated aromas of dark fruit (cherry and blackberry,) ripe plum, currant, typical cassis, licorice and savory spices. Beautiful tones of vanilla, dark roast coffee and wet earth lead the nose on this medium-full bodied wine. The warm and rich palate delivers blackberry, chocolate and roasted coffee bean. It is lush and plush with dark fruit finish. Definitely needs a juicy steak to compliment.

A very dense and ripe, almost over ripe, red blend from Antinori's Tormaresca project in northern Puglia. The palate is thick, plush, very ripe with massive fruit extract - the sort of modern style southern Italian red wine that turns heads in North America. Depth and length and very good, and the palate is dry, putting this in the premium value range for the price category. Certified organic agriculture. Tasted January 2016. Value Rating: ***
This Rosso Castel del Monte is a 70/20/10 blend of organic aglianico, Cabernet sauvignon and syrah grown on Bocca di Lupo estate in Minervino Murge in the province of Bari-Andria-Trani.
Gwen Barton rated this wine as
89/100 with the following review:
Intense deep red colour. Cooked raspberry and strawberry on the nose quickly followed by coffee, chocolate and gentle earthiness with some burnt toffee. Enjoyed a gentle peppery and tannic finish. Leaves you feeling warm and happy. Try with roast chicken and herbed stuffing .
Terry Jeans rated this wine as
89/100 with the following review:
A full-bodied red, with grippy tannins. It has layers of fruit on the nose and on the palate of dark, ripe blackberries, smoke, anise and cedar. A very pleasant round, luscious mouthfeel, but with enough tannins to handle a spicy meat pasta sauce. It could be kept in the cellar for a good ten plus years where it will likely soften nicely.
Matt Steeves rated this wine as
88/100 with the following review:
Dark fruits, plum, cedar, underbrush, and graphite on the nose. Dry with lots of fine tannins, the sweet dark and tangy fruit persists on the finish. Decant one hour prior to service and enjoy with braised dishes. Tasted January 2016. 88 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
