Monique Sosa rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

The Glenfarclas 17yr Single Malt sips like a lush candied delicacy on my palate. This "Rich and Round" Speyside (yes, it is located in the Speyside, a region of its own within the Highlands) shows notes of spice, sweet sugar shack smoke, dried figs, apricot, and nutmeg. Initially, fruit aromas are tough to drag out but if you can recognize the Sherried notes, you'll uncover the fruit. The palate is dominated by a long sweet and smooth finish with lasting notes of vanilla, caramel, anise, and fig. Tasted Oct 2016. @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
Matt Steeves rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Rich amber-gold colour, with rich smoky peat, caramel, burnt sugar and sea breeze. Smooth and layered with sweet butterscotch, candied orange, crème brulee and Sherry notes on the finish. A very smooth and complex Scotch. Highly recommended. Great Christmas gift for that special person in your life. Tasted October 2016. 93 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
