Paul Lupinacci rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Beran (or Bear) is the state symbol for California and appears on the state flag. The Beran wine is produced from grapes grown in various locations throughout the state, including Napa, Sonoma and Amador County.

The wine is deep, ruby red in appearance with a delicate bouquet of fruit with hints of vanilla. On the palette the Beran is bursting with sweet cherry and vanilla flavours. Hints of butterscotch and honey round out the taste. The texture is very good, smooth and big and the finish is long and pleasant.

Overall, this is a very good wine – a big, jammy zin and, as the name suggests, the embodiment of California zinfandel. The Beran is big is a enough to stand up to dishes like grilled red meat and Mexican food.
Alex & Priya rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Alex: An overtly fruity and glossy style of zinfandel, and on the sweet side too. it is however, fairly well balanced, with a velvety plush texture and ample blackberry, raspberry fruit, cherry cola and vanilla flavors on the palate. The alcohol, even at 15.1%, remains in check. A good zin if you don't mind the sweetness. 87 pts

Priya: Alas the day has come, where Alex is right: my taste is changing. Say it isn't so! It is super rich, which I like, but very sweet. I can't drink more than a glass-maybe not a bad thing. I guess the 15% alcohol is contributing to that as well. Blackberry is definitely right Alex. I prefer my zins a tad less sweet is all. 86pts

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
