Pamela Chiles rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Such an interesting and compelling wine - layers of rubbed blackberry leaf, dried berry, tar and charcoal, bitter chocolate and tobacco leaf, substantial tannins and great structure. I kept diving for another taste! Open it up for an hour or two then serve with beef or game.
Lori Kilmartin WSET3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

From the look of this dark brooding wine one would expect mouth puckering tannins. Surprisingly, this French blend of 80% Tannat and 20% Cabernet Franc is fairly smooth. There is enough acidity and fruit to balance out this full bodied red and make it quite drinkable now Smokey aromas of leather and dark fruits. Be sure and pair it with something weighty; braised beef, stew, bison or elk would all work well. Tasted Oct. 2/2016
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Dark ruby with aromas of dusty blueberry, graphite, and blackberry. The taste is juicy, and not as tannic as one would expect. The blueberry from the aroma comes through, as well as some plum. There a definitely grippy tannins, but the acidity balances it out quite well. Pair with very rare steak, or hard cheeses and nuts.
Jane Staples rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Clean dark fruit flavours and extremely smooth mouthfeel. Lingering elegant dark fruit finish with hint of spice.
