Jane Staples rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A blend of Cab Sauv, Cab Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec and Tannat. Gives rich dark red berries and leather on nose, followed by an elegant palate with layers of red currants, plums, leather, vanilla, mocha and slight mint. Extra-dry, well-structured with lingering layered finish. Could cellar up to 2021. This has so much going on, just pour a glass and savour it slowly.

Monique Sosa rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Deep dark ruby red appearance and deep robust body and fruit concentration. This Ontario gem is rich with moderate berry and graphite minerality aromas. The palate is juicy and mouthwatering with ripe berry flavours, moderately high but integrated tannins, and a long mint finish. Overall, it's a delicious and a pleasant surprise. It's admirably blended and balanced. A worthy holiday treasure for the appreciator of fine Canadian Wines. Tasted Nov 2016 - @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
Matt Steeves rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Stratus Red 2012 - This impressive Niagara-on-the-Lake winery consistently produces some of the finest wines available in Ontario. 2012 was the best growing season the winery had experienced which enabled the grapes to achieve their optimal ripesness thereby contributing to the big and bold style of this red blend. Winemaker J-L Groux beautifully crafted and assembled this complex red blend made up of 29% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Cabernet Franc, 26% Merlot, 13 % Petit Verdot, 3% Malbec, and 3% Tannat that spent 622 days in 35% new French oak. Deep ruby with an opaque core, it's inky with rich and conentrated dark fruit, fleshy black plum, sweet spice, truffle, and pepper aromas. Massive structure that's loaded with fine tannins, with a freshness on the palate that showcases how the winemaker's touch crafted such an elegant yet powerful wine. A cellar candidate that will reward an extra 5-10 years of aging. Enjoy 2017-2027. Tasted June 2017. 93 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
