A bright Sauvignon Blanc with dazzling acidity and complex aromas white grapefruit, lime zest, minerality, fresh cut grass, as well as a touch or peach and melon. The taste is grapefruit, white pepper, and lemon. There's a long crisp white grapefruit finish with a touch of lime. The high acidity makes this a very refreshing summer wine, and would be an interesting wine to pair with creamy dishes as it doesn't have the level of "green-ness" of many NZ Sauvignon Blancs.

Medium Straw colour. Initial notes of citrus, pear and grapefruit on the nose. Layers of flavor including passion fruit, and a distinct minerality that combine to produce a more rounded mouth feel with solid acid levels supporting the flavour rather than dominating. Very well structured and outstanding balance of fruit and crispness. This will favour foods that are a bit richer and can even do justice to some red meats. Try this with asparagus wrapped in phyllo or a beef cheek ravioli and brown butter sauce.

A good presence of benchmark Marlborough NZ "greenness" but with some depth. At first glance, this Sauv Bl seems all cat's pee and gooseberry bush but soon after come these incredible notes of pineapple, ripe kiwi and passion fruit. Then later comes this layer of flinty minerality. On the palate, its all tropical fruit presence. Light-medium bodied, lusciously high acidity and a crisp clean finish. Definitely try pairing this with oysters and crab legs!
Jennifer Havers rated this wine as
90/100 with the following review:
This wine shows a refinement and restraint, while still delivering on aromas and flavours. Some flint and mineral characteristics are prominent on the nose, mingled with expected tropical fruit and lime. Fruit and zesty citrus flavours come through, and acidity provides balance to this wine, but it's not as high as some other more "typical" Sauvignon Blanc. Stone and flint flavours come through as well on the palate, and finish is long and lingering. Perfect match to asparagus, or fresh, briny seafood.

Winemaker Dave Edmonds achieves the flinty minerality, lime, green herbs and slight peppery aroma of this Sauvignon Blanc by working with Nobilo's vineyard managers in the Arataro valley. The result of careful canopy management and a blend of the best wines from three vineyards, the wine tastes clean and crisp, and pairs perfectly with an asparagus salad but I would also pair this with jalapeño-laden Mexican enchiladas or tostadas.

In 1936, Nikola and Zuva Nobilo moved to New Zealand from Croatia to escape the impending war. They left everything behind except a few important things, one of them was a 300 year old winemaking tradition.
They faced many hurdles trying to put these years of experience to work, mainly because there was no wine culture in New Zealand at the time, add to that was the lack of equipment needed to set up a vineyard. Undeterred, Nikola persevered, built his own tools and in 1943, the couple planted some of the first commercial vines in Huapai, west of Auckland on New Zealand’s North Island.
By the 1970s, Nikola had established himself as a successful winemaker who also helped transform New Zealand’s wine industry by shifting from hybrid grapes to Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir.
To this day, Nobilo continues to craft delicious wines of distinct regional character from their many vineyards in Marlborough, Hawkes Bay and Gisborne.
The fruit for this Icon wine hails from Nobilo’s 4 finest Sauvignon Blanc vineyards in Marlborough. The grapes from each vineyard is harvested and fermented separately.
In the glass, it is a silvery yellow color.
Beautiful herbal nose, full of citrus, minerality, yellow grapefruit and a hint of freshly grated nutmeg.
Supple palate, elegant and fuller in body than what you would expect! Citrus and minerality perfectly balanced by luscious acidity.
The perfect wine to serve with olive oil based seafood pasta dishes! Don’t forget the garlic and load up of giant succulent shrimp, lobster, crab and white fish!!!
