Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Deep, dark aromas of cocoa, graphite, black cherry, and plum. The taste black cherry with a touch or cocoa and backing spices. Mouth watering acidity, grippy young-ish tannins, and a mouth-feel on the rough side of velvet. It would probably be more towards velvet if left to breathe for an hour or two, but couldn't resist after the wonderful aromas.

I'm pairing this with the first barbecue of the season, beef tenderloin with a spice rub. You'd be hard pressed to find a better match than this wine.
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

The nose has a Luscious aroma of blackfruit. The palate offers blackberry and blackcherry with a hint of mocha. Has soft tannins that linger on a smooth finish. Pair with grilled meat or pasta with marinara sauce.

Natalie's Review

Stags' Leap Winery Cabernet Sauvignon 2012, Napa Valley, California, United States: Savoury and meaty Californian red wine made from the state's classic red wine grape Cabernet Sauvignon. This robust wine offers black fruit aromas and some acidity on the palate for dishes with some tang, like a meat and tomato sauce. Drink: 2014-2019. 996405 14% XD 750 mL  $79.95 Score: 90/100. Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
