Pleasantly smoky on the nose, this full bodied, complex Shiraz follows with blackberry and cherry on the palate. Finishes very smooth. Tasted April 13, 2016.
Courtney Flood rated this wine as
90/100 with the following review:
Ripe cherry, blueberry, plum and eucalyptus. Smokey cocoa and sweet vanilla bean. Plush but not overdone.
Jacky Blisson rated this wine as
86/100 with the following review:
Dark, inky garnet. Intense, jammy black and red fruits on the nose. Full bodied, densely structured Shiraz with earthy, black fruits and tobacco flavours. Big, chunky tannins frame the finish. Oaky notes linger.
Devon rated this wine as
85/100 with the following review:
Big juicy wine. Sweet jammy fruits on the nose and plate. The classic spicy black pepper is present throughout this Shiraz. Hints of vanilla, coffee and mint. Quite approachable and easy drinking. Pair with anything that is covered in a sweet BBQ sauce.
Jennifer Havers rated this wine as
88/100 with the following review:
Lots of blackberry jam on the nose of this as well as some subtle black pepper. Full bodied and lots of jammy fruit on the palate as well. Tannins are soft. Perfect wine for BBQ burgers.
Lori Kilmartin WSET3 rated this wine as
88/100 with the following review:
This looks like a dark brooding wine - very opaque. My first thought was I could almost spread it on a piece of bread with its intense nose of cooked jammy dark fruits (plum and blackberries). Black pepper and spice overtake the fruit on the palate. Be sure and pair it with something substantial -like a grilled steak. Tasted April 3/2016
Gwen Barton rated this wine as
88/100 with the following review:
Beautiful deep ruby red. Powerful and full- bodies. Peppery, spicy nose with deep dark fruit. Robust finish where pepper, smoke and spice are prominent. Lamb chops with mint sauce would go well.
Wineboy rated this wine as
89/100 with the following review:
This Shiraz, while powerful, trades off a bit of power for complexity. A pepper spice note is the most visible element. Clearly New World with an Old World accent.
Bill Wright Sommelier rated this wine as
89/100 with the following review:
Blackberries and spice on the nose. Full bodied and plenty of tart fruit with smoke and spice on the finish. Would make a great 'burger' wine
Tasted April 3/16
Emilie Ryan rated this wine as
80/100 with the following review:
A big, earthy Shiraz…
Presentation: Dark image, a little depressing to be honest
Appearance: Medium ruby red
Nose: Dirty socks, sour cherries, raspberries, wood charring
Taste: Earthy, bitter, leather
Finish: Dirt, leather, bitter
Overall impression: Big on earth and terroir aspects. This wine needs big food like old cheddar,
Value: 2/5
