The nose presents incense, cedar, tobacco and mint. Palette has medium+ acidity, medium tannin and a refreshing juicy/gulpable texture and medium + finish. Great value quaff.

Enjoy the 2011 vintage of Borsao Berola which is 15.0% ABV and aged 14 months in French oak Bordelaise barrels after stainless fermentation in Spain. This wine is produced from a blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon fruit. Wonderfully well-balanced, integrated aromatics of ripe red berry, cherry, mocha and complex phenolics. Enjoy 2015 -2020.

A very nice medium-bodied Spanish blend of mostly Garnacha with a splash of Syrah; aged 14 months in French oak bordelaise. Dark and rich ruby red colour with aromas and flavours of dark fruit, blueberry, dried fruit, smoke, black pepper, toast and oak. 15% abv but doesn't taste hot. Lingering raspberry and cherry finish. Tannins are polishing and acidity is medium+ and cleansing. Great value at $17. This could be your summer red.

Mostly garnacha with a splash of syrah, this is all raisins and black pepper, thick, rich and ultimately attractive. There's obvious density and concentration, and little obvious wood impact (balanced) making this a widely pleasing style at a nifty price. 15% alcohol helps to soften and heighten the appeal in the big red category. Tasted June 2015. Value Rating: **

From the folks that bring you Tres Picos, this Garnacha-predominant Berola is also a stunner. Aromas of pipe tobacco and earthy notes blend with blueberry compote on the nose. There’s a rich, luscious stream of boysenberry pie and ripe mulberry interlaced with bittersweet chocolate, sweet vanilla and black pepper. Medium bodied with good mouth feel, it finishes with a flourish of tangy red berry fruit and lip-smacking tang. (Vic Harradine)

Back up the truck! This beauty is going to go quick. A blend of Garnacha (Grenache) and Syrah, which is sure to please. Deep ruby red, rich chocolate, dark berries, baking spice, and smoky oak. The palate is lush and layered. Sweet dark fruit, spice, and tobacco leaf lead to a lengthy black cherry finish. Enjoy with BBQ fare, including ribs, pulled pork, or gourmet burgers. Tasted June 2015. 90+ points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca

90/100 with the following review:
Made from mainly indigenous Garnacha and a small percentage of Syrah, aged in French Bordelaise oak barrels for 14 mos. A dark garnet red, with a nose of ripe cherries, vanilla, and subtle oak. The rich, complex palate gives lots of ripe cherries, vanilla, baking spices and zippy pepper, with slight herbal touches and oak. Very dry with a tannic mouthfeel and a long spicy cherry finish.
