Mario Cagnetta rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A typical GSM, Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre blend with a terrific balance and an even more terrific price (just $14.95 at the LCBO). La Ferme Du Mont Premiere Cote by Stephane Vedeau, the brilliant third generation winemaker from Cotes Du Rhone is true expression of his philosophy to creating balanced wine respecting the terroir, the grapes, the acidity and the tannicity. All the grapes blended (Grenache 60%, Syrah 30%, Mourvèdre 10%) give their beautiful notes resulting in a very harmonious wine. The leathery and gamey notes from Syrah are softened by the fine herbal notes from Provence coming from Mourvèdre with the Grenache being the backbone with its beautiful aromas of licorice and spices.
Visual Examination: Crystal clear, ruby red, this is a fine quality wine that reveals floral and spicy notes surrounded by a very prominent bouquet of Provençal herbs notably thyme.
Taste-Olfactory examination: dry, warm with its 14% abv, this wine is smooth but very well balanced by a fresh acidity able to contrast the tannins. Balanced, with an intense and persistent aftertaste in your mouth. La Ferme Du Mont 2012 Premiere Cote is a full bodied wine ready to drink and harmonious. Try it with mushroom risotto. 90 points really deserved.
Alex & Priya rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Priya: I love how this wine smells - no funk, bloodiness or mustiness - just ripe, spicy fruit! Tastes surprisingly as it smells - which doesn't always happen with wine. A nice mellow sipper, very well rounded. A bit overwhelming for my qunoa, veg and tofu dish, but lovely on its own. 86 pts

Alex: Lovely juiciness, great spice on nose and palate, very white pepper, some lavender, juicy ripe cherries, excellent balance and freshness. Spicy, complex palate complete with inner perfume (floral notes in mouth). This keeps my steak light and lively, outstanding wine for $14.95, and still quite good were it $20. 90 pts
Mymi Thesingingsommelier rated this wine as 82/100 with the following review:

So what would it take for Stéphane Vedeau, the owner and winemaker at ‘La Ferme Du Mont’ in the Southern part of Les Côtes du Rhône to even be interested in purchasing a piece of land to add to his vineyard collection? In his words, he is “terroir-attracted” and looks for fresh minerality in the soil.
Not only do you find that fresh minerality in the wines that he carefully crafts but you also taste the land and that natural harmonious balance that he skillfully maintains through the winemaking process. His wines are all organic products, free of chemicals and pesticides, the fertilizers are organic in nature and he even uses ambient or natural yeasts to ferment the wines.
If you always wanted to try a red Côtes du Rhône but never knew which one to get, do yourself a favor and grab a few bottles of this one! At this price point, it is sure to become a hot seller!
This 2012 vintage is a blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre.
In the glass, it is a light rustic red color.
On the nose, there are bright aromas of red fruit, a little meat, some clove and crushed allspice berries.
On the palate, it is dry and smoky with lusciously ripe red fruit. Soft tannins with just the right amount of acidity to refresh and cleanse the palate for the next sip!
An easy drinking red wine to enjoy slightly chilled!

Natalie's Review

La Ferme Du Mont 2012, Côtes Du Rhône A.C., France: This robust southern French red wine blend offers superb value and taste for the price point. Full-bodied with lots of savoury black fruit and smoky aromas and flavours. Robust with wild black tart cherries and woodland forest oak. Finishes with a kick of pepper. Pair with prime rib. Drink: 2013-2017. 251645 14.50% D 750 mL  $19.95 Score: 90/100. July 22, 2015 Best Value Red Wine. Best Beef Wine  Full Review
