I must admit I greatly admire the wines of Torres, always crafted in an appealing style, yet without sacrificing the archetypes of their respective regions. This 2011 Ribera Del Duero does the job nicely, delivering plenty of engaging and fresh red and black berry fruit with a significant dose of wood. The texture is light and refined, and with a light chill, this is highly enjoyable at a great price. Tasted April 2015. Value Rating: ***
Heather Wall rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

I love the whimsy and dreaminess of this label. A beautiful sea of stars as seen in the night skies above a mountaintop vineyard 895m above sea level. Lots of dark fruit with baking spices, vanilla, toffee, prune, leather with some toast and floral on the palate. Tannins are smooth with good cleansing acidity. Long fruit driven finish. This is a crowd pleasing red wine. Pair with grilled red meats. Excellent BBQ wine - Hamburgers!

Matt Steeves rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Torres Celeste Crianza fruit is sourced from high altitude vineyards (895m) which is key to producing incredibly refreshing and balanced wine. This high altitude, as if reaching into the Heavens is why Torres uses the term ‘Celeste’ in this value priced gem. Sweet dark fruit, dried figs, prunes, leather, and rustic notes. Soft on the palate, a wine this is sure to please! Lovely baking spice and fruit on the palate. Yummy! 91 points. Tasted March 2015. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Jane Staples rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Celeste Crianza has an aromatic nose of ripe cherries, dark cassis, vanilla and leather. The sensuous palate has a whole lot happening, with ripe dark berries, leather, vanilla and a touch of tobacco. Very smooth mouthfeel and a long ripe dark berry finish.

Natalie's Review

Torres Celeste Crianza 2011, Ribera Del Duero D.O., Spain: Juicy, dark and delicious! Big black fleshy fruit wrapped in a smoky blanket. Terrific for this price. The finish is saturated with dark fruit flavours and aromas that provoke the desire for another glass. A perfect pairing for The Good Wife. Polished tannins with a long finish.
