Raspberry, dried cherry, tobacco, leather, tar, and some gamey/barnyard aromas. Sweet red fruit, baking spices, and tobacco on the palate. Medium body and tannins, with medium high acidity.

The nose from the glass draws you in! Smoke, ripe red cherry and leather aromas. A bit earthy (in a good way), spices and leather. Everything you would expect to find in a classic Tuscan Chianti Classico. Typical of Italian wines there is refreshing acidity - making this wine a great match for tomato based dishes. Lingering finish of fruit and tannins.

A traditional Chianti Classico that should pair well with a good pasta dish...
Appearance: medium ruby red
Nose: cheese, leather, flowers, cherries, earth.
Taste: cedar, leather, sour cherries, flowers, tannic. Definitely needs a good pasta with red sauce or cheese to enjoy
Finish: gritty, leather, earth, tannic, long.
Overall impression: Definitely a traditional chianti classico that needs a good pasta dish. It would probably do well if cellared a little longer so the notes can blend and the tannins relax.
Value: 2 out of 5

Nice aromas of spices and black berries. If you like Sangiovese because it is delicious, but also a little rough around the edges, you will like this wine. This is a Napolitana pizza and tomato sauce pasta wine made to eat with it. This kind of wine, I drink it in regular small glasses and I pretend I am in Tuscany!

Rich and robust. Earthy aromas with some dried herbs (mint, savory) and currant. Nice bright acidity. A really nice wine for rich pasta sauce with sausage, or meat pizza.

The Villa Cafaggio is a classic example of the Tuscan luminary red wine. Clean pronounced aromas include: cherry, red plum, baking spices, earthy/forest floor and a touch of dried herb (sage) notes. The palate follows up with instense red berry fruit notes, baking spice (all spice), dried sage, dried mint and hints of mocha. Tannins are firm, acidity is high, body is medium-full and finish is long and delicious. This wine has glorious potential for aging, but it enjoying now pair with tomato based pastas, or consider pairIng with paella! Tasted Nov. 2015.

An old style beauty, with the earthy and mushroom aromas pronounced. Consistent on the palate, this shows correct SV acidity, and a perfect replay of the more earthy style of SV. This would shine with a Bolognese with a healthy handfull of mushrooms added.
