90/100 with the following review:
Lots going on in this wine. Aromas of stewed and dried fruit, pepper, spice, leather, currant. Hints of vanilla and caramel on the palate along with the fruit. More pronounced tannin, nice acidity and a longer finish. Try it now, but keep some to enjoy in a few years' time. A very nice wine! I'd try it with beef short ribs.

This has rich aromas of ripe dark cherries, smoke, leather and vanilla. It follows through on the palette with many of the same flavours, and medium tannins and acid. This medium bodied classic Italian wine is perfect with a pasta dish with spicy sausages.
Olivier de Maisonneuve rated this wine as

It is one of those wines that makes you feel like you're alive in a game of Clue: Old leather, wooden staircases, and lace doilies on the antique furniture. There is also a hint of dried herbs hanging in the kitchen. The wine is very soft on the palate, but not meek.It has personality and quite some length! Maybe even a bit young today, it still has some nice ageing potential.Lovely.
Monique Sosa rated this wine as
91/100 with the following review:
Mmmmmm nice red cherry, dried (sweetened) cranberries, hints of vanilla and anise, and leather on the nose. Velvety smooth tannins on the palate with that cherry-cranberry tangy sweetness coming through to a nice medium-long finish. Medium body, nice acidity, and overall fantastic. I think this wine is pretty versatile when it comes to food - try pairing with beef tartar, tomato based stews/sauces, chilli, wood oven pizza, grilled sausages and..... possibilities are endless.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as
92/100 with the following review:
Subtle aromas of violet, cherry, old leather, mint, vanilla, and ripe plum, all nicely balanced. Don't let the subtle aromas fool you; the taste is full and powerful with grippy tannins, dark and tart cherry, and high acidity. The finish is long, with tannic tart black cherry. A big wine for a big meaty Itialian dish.
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as
91/100 with the following review:
Aromas of floral boquet, red licorice and cherries. Red current, plum, cherry and vanilla on the palate held together with a nice acidic grip.
Kristin Perrin rated this wine as
93/100 with the following review:
Intensely floral / perfumey cherry, red currant nose- loads of red licorice.
Medium plus in body, firm acidity and fairly high tannins. More red tart red fruit combined with a peppery spice that lingers.
Osso Bucco anyone?

Smoke, oak and cigar blended with fruits of dried cherry and plum - this full bodied Sangiovese from Frescobaldi will bring out the Italian in you! Visions of pasta, braised beef, roasted lamb with rosemary, sausage. You are going to want to buy more than one bottle!
Jane Staples rated this wine as

Stewed dark fruit and raisins on the nose, followed by dark dried fruit, vanilla, vanilla, slight oak and touch of toffee on palate. Harmonious, soft tannins. Lingering rich dried fruit finish. Dessert in a glass!
