Heather Wall rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

The Chilean word Kai translated to English means "plant." The magnificent leaf on the label is a Carmenere leaf. Carmenere has grown to become Chile's lucrative grape and put Chile on the wine map. If you have been put off by the stemmy green notes in a lot of Chilean Carmenere then this wine will change your opinion. It is soft, smooth and elegant. This full-bodied red wine was aged 22 months in 95% new French oak using old vine grapes. Decadent black fruit, cherry, leather, smoke, fig, pepper, mint, cocoa. The finish is long warm fruit finish. Enjoy this with traditional Chilean grilled meats - steak with sea salt.

Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

If you've given up on Carmenere, this wine will change your mind. Exquisitely crafted with
aromas blackberry, black cherry, pepper, old leather, and cocoa, as well as a touch of mint and the slightest hint of the somewhat signature Carmenere "green-ness". The taste shows tart blackberry, high acidity, spiciness, and an interesting, dark, "India ink" note. The mouth-feel is velvety and rich.
Jane Staples rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A dark ruby elegant Carmenere with aromas of fresh berries, fig, black pepper, cinnamon and dates, repeated on a velvety smooth palate. Aged 22 mos. in French oak. Complex, subtle finish to linger over. Try with Mexican dishes in mole or with curries.
