Here's an intriguing varietal graciano crafted in the traditional style, with a significant dose of American-oak/toasted coconut and damp cedar flavour, yet it still works well alongside zesty-fresh red berry fruit. Acids are bright and crisp, saliva-inducing, while tannins are fine-grained and elegant. This has plenty of savoury-umami character to top it all off, and I bet once you've had a sip, you'll be wanting more. Fine complexity, too. Enjoy this now or forget it in the cellar for 5-8 years more without fear. Nice stuff. Tasted January 2015. Value Rating: ***
Heather Wall rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

An inky brew of Spain's Graciano grape. Cherry, plum, toasted oak, dusty, cellar floor, hint of floral. The tannins are grippy with medium+ acidity. Long tannic finish. Red meat pairing.
Tasted: January 2015

Baron De Ley Varietal Graciano 2010, Rioja D.O.C.A., Spain: Exotic and dark with pencil led, graphite, anise and black plums on the nose and palate of this full-bodied, smooth Spanish red wine made from the country's iconic Graciano grape. The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
