This wine was fabulous! It is loaded with what's to come on the nose, robust flavors of dark fruit, smoke, spice, violet, eucalyptus, well blended layers, significant tannins and a lingering smoky finish. A definite buy again wine.

Deep red. Black fruit and spice on the nose. Nice mouthfeel. Plums, smoke and spice with a hint of eucalyptus. Long finish. Good value.

Medium body with some pepper, cherry and red berry on the nose. A bit lighter than expected on the palate with the same berry and both black and green pepper coming through. Nice acid medium finish. Try this with pork.

Medium ruby in the glass with slow legs. Pretty aromas of cherry, red berries,plum, herbal, medicinal, violets. light + body on the palate with youthful tannins. Medium+ acidity with a medium length warm finish. Pair with blackened salmon or tuna, or plain old Canadian comfort foods such as Tortiere.

Jackson-Triggs Grand Reserve Meritage 2012, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario V.Q.A., Canada: Wow, what a spectacular red wine blend of Cabernet and Merlot grapes! This Niagara producer has made the most of the amazing 2012 vintage. Complex, concentrated, rich and satisfying with a long finish. Loaded with dark fruit and smoke. Highly recommended.
