Jennifer Havers rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Earthy and robust, this wine also has floral aromas along with red berry and some warm spice. More peppery on the palate, but the berry and spice come through as well. Full bodied with firm tannin and a medium to longer finish. Another great steak wine.
Matt Steeves rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This storied Australian winery is known around the world for producing quality wines year after year. Medium ruby with a purple hue, the nose shows bramble berry, plum, a hint of tar, all wrapped up in sweet baking spices. Youthful, with layers of tangy dark fruits, spice, refreshing acidity and well integrated tannins make this a great complement to any braised beef dish. Tasted November 2014. 90 points. Martha Kelly AIWS rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

Full-bodied and complex this blend of Rhone grapes displays new world dark fruit, chocolate, coffee, cigar box, and savoury complexity with hints of spice. The tannins are firm, though ripe and give structure on to the long, warming finish.
Pair with finer cuts of beef or savour on its own.
Drink now or cellar until 2024. This wine will benefit from ageing as the tannins continue to soften and the wine gains complexity.
Date tasted: November 2014.
Tom Vigeant reviewed this wine as follows:

Aromas of violets, cherries. Full bodied, medium tannins, well structured wine.
Sean O'Regan rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Nov 16, 2014: Deep ruby, nose of sweet ripe fruit, blackberry, stewed plum, oak, baking spice, dusty mineral, peppery and a bit of underbrush. Full bodied and rich sweet ripe fruit floods the palate followed by light spicy notes. Well balanced, plush wine with medium long finish. Pair with rich meaty winter stew. This has structure to last over the next 5-10 years.

Natalie's Review

Penfolds Bin 2 Shiraz Mourvèdre 2012, Barossa Valley, South Australia, Australia: A full-bodied Australian red wine blend of Shiraz (about 90%) and Mourvèdre (about 10%) grapes with terrific structure and depth. Judicious use of oak wraps around blackberries and some dark spice notes. A pleasantly long, dry finish. Another classic red from Australia. Perfect for grilled meats: smooth yet robust. finishes with dark fruits, pepper and spice. Drink: 2013-2018. 468629 14% XD 750 mL  $24.95 Score: 91/100. November 15, 2014 Best Beef Wine  Full Review
