Matt Steeves rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Deep black cherry colour. Nose shows a refined, beautiful bouquet of black cherry, fresh figs, plum, dried fruit, dark chocolate, black forest cake, with sweet spicy notes. The palate velvety smooth, and remarkably light and refreshing, not in the least bit cloying, and so superbly balanced. An exceptional Canadian fortified red wine. I served it chilled and in a large Bordeaux glass. Wonderful on its own, and would pair well with strong cheese plates, holiday fruit cake, or any other holiday dessert. Tasted November 2014. 93 points. Matt Steeves - www.nataliemaclean.com
Astrid Young rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Meaty up front, with a slightly foxy nose. Reduced aromas of dried plum and desiccated black fruits. Surprisingly spicy on the mid palate, with notes of chinotto, graham cracker and plum jam. Has a certain fireplace quality to it, probably great with a spiked plum pudding.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Fragrant and meaty, with smoke, raisins, and figs in the aroma. The taste is smooth and savoury with a touch of tannins.
Lynn van der Linde rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Heady floral aromas with a hint bacon make for an unusual introduction to this fortified vintage Foch. Smooth lingering flavours of figs will have you coming back for more! A beautiful way to end a holiday meal.
Donna Hargrove rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Rich berry and dark chocolate flavour. Long warm finish. A glass of this port while sitting by the fire would be the perfect end to a winters day.
Martha Kelly AIWS rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Full-bodied this dessert wine has flavours of dark berry, chocolate and black pepper, with herbaceous notes. The wine has long length on the warming finish.
Pair with pungent cheese, nuts, and chocolate. Decant before serving.
Drink now or cellar until 2020.
Date tasted: November 2014.

Natalie's Review

Quails' Gate Estate Winery Fortified Vintage Foch 2012, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia BC VQA, Canada: A lovely dessert wine that's not overly sweet. Very viscuous and unctuous (love that word). Layers of black plum and blackberry preserves. Pair with brambleberry pie. Drink: 2013-2019. 638148 18% S 500 mL  $25.00 Score: 88/100. November 15, 2014 Best Value Dessert Wine.  Full Review
