The Pirramimma Katunga GTS 2012 is a very enjoyable blend of Grenache, Tannat, and Shiraz. Nice flavours and aromas of dark cherry, blackberry and spice. Very long Finish on this beauty! Tasted November 2016 (90/100)
Monique Sosa rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Pretty complex from just one sip. Black fruit, dark chocolate, tobacco and licorice aroma overload! Flavours on the palate transform to more cooked fruit notes and a spicy finish. Medium to full bodied and rounded tannins. Pair with game - wild boar, deer or bison.
Sean O'Regan rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Nov 16, 2014: A unique blend of Grenache, Tannat and Shiraz, the wine pours medium ruby, with a sweet nose of raspberry, black cherry, baking spice and hints of eucalyptus. Soft round palate on entry, juicy acidity and gentle drying tannins surround the ripe cherry/berry fruit and spice on a medium long finish.
Astrid Young rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Lovely dark and fresh fruit flavors like a mouthful of creamy juicy blackberry pie. A note of licorice, lifted and reductive flavors that are almost balsamic in concentration. Ripe blueberry compote underpinning the sweetness of berries at their peak, elegant mouthfeel and finishes well with soft tannins and loads of dark dried fruit.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Cigar box, black cherry, spices, and vanilla. The mouth feel is velvety, and the taste well balanced with some smokiness coming through with the fruit. A nice wine for a savoury pork roast.
Martha Kelly AIWS rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

GTS = Grenache, Tannat, Shiraz; this blend gives complex flavours of ripe dark fruit, candied cherries, spices, and savoury earthy notes with slight floral elegance. The Firm tannins provide structure for this fruit-driven, refreshing wine. The wine has long length on the warming finish.
Pair with grilled beef or lamb.
Drink now or cellar until 2018.
Date tasted: November 2014.

Natalie's Review

Pirramimma Katunga Gts 2012, Mclaren Vale, South Australia, Australia: Juicy and vibrant with black and purple liqueur aromas and flavours. Full-bodied and ultra-smooth. Deeply concentrated and rich with layered complexity through the palate. Lots of toasty, smoky oak that's in balance with the luscious fruit. This wine cries out for hearty meat dishes, and for you to top up your glass. Stunning complexity, depth and finish in this towering Australian red wine.
