Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This is one of my favourite wines from Ontario. Consistently good. It features loads of black cherry, wood, herb, tobacco, plum and dried strawberry. Great aromatics and a serious core. 91 Points. (www.ottawawinejournal.com)
Jennifer Havers rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A blend using around 50% Merlot, followed by Cabernet Sauvignon, and finally Cabernet Franc. Aromas of dark, ripe fruit (plums, currants, raspberries) that follow through on the palate as well, combined with structured tannin and bright acidity. Great balance of flavours and a nice finish. Enjoy this with grilled pork or beef.
Jane Staples rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A very enjoyable Cab-Merlot blend, with nearly half Merlot used, giving a distinctively different profile than the Classic Tier Cab-Merlot that we also tasted in comparison. The presence of Cab Sauv is noticed, with more mellow ripe dark berry flavours and soft tannins. Made in limited production, when conditions are ideal, averaging 2-3 bottles per vine. Could cellar for several years or be enjoyed now with roast veal and grilled vegetables.

Melanie Aubert rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

This deep ruby wine shows aromas of black cherry, sweet spice, cocoa, and plum. On the palate, it's got lots of acidity and solid tannins, as well as a hint of black pepper, making it a perfect pairing for grilled meats.
Jon Steeves rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Here's a wine built for a BBQ steak. Well executed blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, declared at 14% ABV. Red field berry, tart cherry, cedar plank, baking spice, a touch of herbaceous mint. Pair this with a braised red meat or BBQ steak. Tasted Jan 2017. Rated 90/100. BespokeTastings.ca
Sharon Lécuyer rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Subtle notes of cherry and smoke. On the palette spicy and eucalyptus. I'd pair with a peppercorn steak, spinach salad with walnuts and goat cheese. Drink this wine, on a rainy day with a great book, by a fireplace with a blanket, when you're feeling under the weather. This is worth its price! Love this wine!

Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Aromas of cherry and plum, white pepper, and dried herbs. Very grippy on the palate, with cherry and plum flavours. Medium acidity and a medium tannic cherry finish.
Courtney Flood rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

I'm impressed! Blueberry jam, cedar, mocha, cherry, tons of cracked pepper. Palate is lush and mouthwatering at the same time, ending in a cooling eucalyptus. Obviously a longer oak aging, as well as concentrated grapes.
Carola Price rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Love this style of Bordeaux but from our own backyard. Lots of black fruit and some tobacco in the nose with a well balanced acidity and fruit in the mouth. Lingering blackberry and plum with some earthy component at the end. Medium bodied and perfect for many red meats and bolder white meat preparation (think Cajun chicken gumbo). Grilled Chorizo and garlic bread with roasted eggplant is a great match for starters.
Drink now or hold to 5 years.
Wineboy rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Nice fullness of classic flavours, with solid tannins for aging. Classic Bordeaux style wine.
Bill Wright Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This is a traditional Bordeaux blend with an Ontario flair. The nose of dark fruits, red berries, and spice say taste me. Lovely fruit, vanilla and peppery spice on a long finish deliver all the promise the nose offered.
Tasted April 3/16, now again March 26, 2017
A year later an still the sae great wine
Heather Wall rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This is a full on Niagara red wine crafted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot grapes. Inky ruby colour with slow moving legs on the glass. Ripe juicy nose of black cherry, strawberry, cassis, cedar, cloves and vanilla. Some youthful tannins greet the palate and there's refreshing Niagara acidity to awaken the senses. Lingering tobacco and red berry finish.Medium(+) body. Very nice red wine for Easter roasted lamb.
Tasted: February 2016
Lynn van der Linde rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Wow! Henry of Pelham, thank you! Heady aromas of figs, cloves, cinnamon, and vanilla carry through with a full body and spicy finish. Steak here we come! Spectacular.

Natalie's Review

Henry of Pelham Winery Cabernet Merlot 2012, Short Hills Bench, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario V.Q.A., Canada: A balanced, full-bodied Niagara red wine, with attractive notes of cedar forest, wild blackberries and some herbal notes. This wine is made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot grapes grown on the winery's own estate. Yields are kept low to 2 to 3 tonnes per acre so that the grapes are concentrated with flavour, which translates directly into the wine's complexity.
