Shelley Harris rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A medium bodied red filled with strong berry and smoky aromas. This wine would pair well with a grilled pepper steak.
Heather Wall rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Gorgeous deep ruby colour with slow moving legs. Luscious aromas of dark fruit, vanilla, tobacco, ashes, earth. The palate is clean with medium+ body, medium+ acidity. Grown from vines planted in 1984 with low yields and 18 months of oak aging. Flavour characteristics of sour cherry, plum, cassis, oak, smoke, tobacco. cigar box. A Canadian specialty. Red meat please!
Tasted: November 2014
Lynn van der Linde rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

The fabulous grape growing year of 2012 shines like a super star in this lovely Baco Noir! Aromas of cedar, anise, dates, and cooking spices, followed by persistent flavours of ripe blackberries and black pepper. Would be a lovely pair with sharp cheeses!
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Blueberries, blackberries, smoke, cedar, vanilla, and sweet spices in the aroma of this vintage. The taste has lots of juicy fruits, solid acidity, and a full-bodied feel. I said in my review of the 2011 that I was looking forward to this years wine, and it doesn't disappoint. This is a little more 'European' than some of the previous years, and perhaps a bit more approachable for some that would not consider a Baco Noir. As usual, an exeptional wine.
Donna Hargrove rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

With a deep red colour, this Niagara Baco Noir is deliciously fruity on the nose with distinct berry aromas. Smooth on the palate with full bodied fruit flavours. A must-have with charcuterie or with a meaty spaghetti sauce!

Natalie's Review

Henry of Pelham Reserve Baco Noir 2012, Niagara, Ontario V.Q.A., Canada: Henry of Pelham does Baco Noir right: this is best of class. Brooding aromas of black and purple plum, blackberries and blueberries wrapped in smoke. Supple and full-bodied. The 2012 vintage was another strong one for Ontario producers, and especially this winery. Could this be the ultimate hamburger wine? I think so as this wine won the beef category for The Great Canadian Wine Match people's choice awards this year. Well-structured with a solid finish. Try it tonight.
