Louise Wilson rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Ripe and rich plum and blueberry flavours wrapped in seductive vanilla notes. This full bodied wine is perfectly satisfying alongside a steaming bowl of Irish stew. Drink now through 2016. Tasted Nov 2014.
Andria Baxter rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

At first nose, Ravenswood 2012 Old Vine Zinfandel hints at elements of oak and black cherries. However, with your first sip, you will experience a full-bodied wine, which busts open to expose forward notes of black cherry, raspberry and a hint of spice. With a long juicy finish, this wine is just as the winemaker intended: BIG and BOLD, and most importantly, memorable. The average Joe, may find this wine is best served with a snack or meal. I would suggest enjoying this classic Zinfandel with grilled marinated flank steak or bacon-wrapped sirloin tips if sharing!
Community Reviewer reviewed this wine as follows:

Saveurs appétissantes de cerises et de mures de Boysen. Notes d’épices chaudes et couches de fruits qui sont parfaitement équilibrées avec une bonne acidité et des tannins doux et subtils.

Mouth-watering flavors of cherry and boysenberry. Notes of warm spice and layers of fruit are perfectly balanced with good acidity and soft, supple tannins.

Good with red mead grilling. Didn't like as much as reviews.
