Ripe tropical fruits - pineapple and ripe melon. An approachable and full-bodied Chardonnay that shows great length and persistence. Ripe stonefruit, butterscotch, and citrus characters show through well, in a style uncluttered by oak.

Pale lemon with Medium+ aromas of of lemon-lime, honey, floral, tropical and steely. The palate brings refreshing acidity and tropical notes are more evident. Nothing ABC about this Chardonnay.
Enjoy it today on your favourite summer patio or shellfish, crudite, salad with goat cheese.
Serve well chilled.

Clear golden color!
The nose is exotic, herbaceous and buttered a little bit same if it's unoaked!
On the palate, it's racy, elegant and the finish is medium.
Serve it at 10-12 degrees.
Pair it with a trout burger with mayonnaise, lemon and capers.

Pale golden colour. Citrus and lemon with some apple on the nose. Nice acid and a medium to long finish. Citrus and apple also on the palate. Quite refreshing.

Fragrant, inviting orchard fruit and lovely citrus aromas. Fleshy mouthfeel, dry and well balanced acidity. The flavours follow the same profile as the aromas perceived on the nose. Moderate to long Finish. Nicely done.

Aromas of green apple, under-ripe pineapple, and a touch of lemon. The taste follows. Fairly simple, lots of acidity, and quite refreshing, in line with the Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc.

Kim Crawford is so well known internationally for their terrific value priced Sauvignon Blanc, and this unoaked Chardonnay should please many with its refreshing acidity, and loads of apple and citrus fruits. Creamy with a refreshing long finish, this would be a great wine to serve with BBQ lemon chicken, turkey dinners, or on its own. Next time you buy a Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc pick up one of these too.

August 17, 2014: Pale gold, honeydew melon, apple and citrus shows on the nose. Apple and citrus repeat on the palate, medium light body, fresh acidity and with a medium candy drop finish. Pair with pasta and white cream sauce.
Louise Wilson rated this wine as

Generous fruit flavours of McIntosh apple, quince and ripe pineapple. Crisp and refreshing with a satisfying length and a dry finish. A great alternative to Pinot Gris. Pair with Fish & Chips or roast chicken dinner. Tasted July 2014.

Kim Crawford Unoaked Chardonnay 2013, Marlborough, Hawke's Bay, East Coast, New Zealand: Fresh and crisp with no oak. Citrus character from Hawke's Bay combines with tropical fruit from Marlborough. Malolactic fermentation with 7 months on the lees to impart richness and creaminess: gives the impression of oak without the heaviness. Butterscotch notes but still ultra-fresh fruit. Refute the notion of ABC (Anything But Chardonnay), a movement started against Chardonnay for being too heavy: this wine will convince you otherwise. Try it with fresh seafood.
