I'm going out on a limb and calling this a great "entry level" Shiraz. Is there such a thing? At $17 this wine has a lot on offer. The bottle is decorated in an eclectic mix of Gold and Silver Awards and with one sip and I understood why. Juicy red berries, cassis, cherry, plum, baking spices, cigar. Polishing tannins and balanced acidity. The length is long on a baked cherry finish. Perfect BBQ wine.

Zonte's Footstep Lake Doctor Shiraz 2012, Langhorne Creek, South Australia, Australia: What a blockbuster Shiraz for the price! This red wine delivers attractive aromas of blackberries, licorice, black and purple plum notes and toasty oak. Full-bodied supple, smooth, smoky and juicy. Great for potluck gatherings and movie night. Drink: 2013-2016. 72975 14.50% D 750 mL  $19.95 Score: 90/100. March 7, 2015 Best Value Red Wine. Plush Pork Wine  Full Review

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
