James Belardo rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

My experience with red Sicilian wines have been limited to wines made with the common Nero D'Avola grape variety but there's other Sicilian wines to choose from. The Nicosia Filara Etna Rosso Sicilian wine uses predominately a blend of the acclaimed Nerello Mascalese (80%) and Nerello Cappuccino (20%) grapes. I have to tell you, it's pretty damn good! The depth of character as revealed by the balance of tannins and hints of dark chocolate and black cherry. I highly recommend this wine and salute Mt. Etna every time a glass is raised. Bravo Sicilia, bravo!

Dianne Fisher rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A very interesting wine from the volcanic soils of Mount Etna, Sicily. Composed of 80% Nerello Mascalese and 20% Nerello Cappuccino. Clear, ruby core with a large silver rim showing a touch of brick-orange. The nose is complex with layers of dried blue fruits, dried cherry, hay, hickory and iron. Light bodied, low/clean tannins, medium acidity. Dried fruits follow on the palate with rhubarb and a finish of smoked herbs.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
