Good value Cotes du Rhone-Villages. Deep ruby. XD. Med+ body. Nice complexity. Aromas of strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, leather, eucalyptus, raisin, sweet spice, charred wood, vanilla, cloves.
Med+ grippy tannins. Flavours have aroma characteristics with added toffee, oak, black pepper, cranberry, cigar and black cherry.
Balanced and velvety.Drink now but has potential to age.Alcohol at 15% gives a little warming finish.
Decant.
Pair with game meat, grilled meats, hearty stews

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

At $17, this wine is quite the value pick-up. Ripe black fruit, milk chocolate, game, garrigue, and a hint of white pepper. I'd draft it in the 2nd round of this year's best releases from the LCBO. 90 Points. (ottawawinejournal.com)

Natalie's Review

Foncalieu St. Gervais Réserve Du Crouzau 2011, A.C., Côtes Du Rhône-Villages, France: Stunning for the price! Full-bodied and richly layered and smooth with lots of fleshy black fruit and some smoke on the finish. Awesome party wine. Previous vintages of this wine have been awarded the Gold Medal at Concours Mondial de Bruxelles. This robust red is primarily made from the enticing Grenache grape. It features a long, spice inflected finish. It'll go the distance when you're playing a seemingly endless game of Monopoly. Drink: 2012-2016. 142943 15.10% XD 750 mL  $16.95 Score: 90/100.
