Beautiful wine, Errazuriz has really shown itself well here. Winemaker Francisco Baettig showcases his incredible talent here. The layers are rich and complex yet balanced and well received. Raspberries, cherries, cassis, leather, mint and chocolate. Tannic and robust. Bordeaux style red, aged 20 months.

Boom! Another one I starred (*)as Yummy!! I believe this one was crowd pleaser. Deeply rich and opaque. Great legs on the glass. Velvety texture and tannic mouthfeel. Aromas are many: ripe red fruit, plum, bakers chocolate, cassis, leather, oak, mint. Ditto on the palate. It's a party in your mouth. Blended Bordeaux style with Cab Franc, Merlot. Small amounts of Carmenere and Malbec for experimentation. Excellent age worthy wine. 10+ years
Courtney Flood rated this wine as
94/100 with the following review:
The signature Errazuriz wine, a Bordeaux-style red, is a fantastic show of the winemaker's ability. Winemaker Francisco Baettig has played with blending many traditional Bordeaux grapes such as Carbenet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot, and more recently adding Carmenere and Malbec. 20 months aging in mostly new-oak barrels for depth. Grapes were picked a little earlier for lower alcohol and more acidity for better aging potential.
Deep red colour, starting to clear with age. Chocolate mint, raspberry, dark cherry, fig, blueberry, eucalyptus. Leathery and herbaceous. Enjoy!

Imagine fresh Nova Scotia blueberries with milk chocolate sauce drizzled over top...this velvety Cab Sauv gives a palate like a big mouthfull of blueberry pie, with hints of forest floor, chocolate and mint. Good structure and smooth tannins.
An excellent gift wine.

Deep ruby to garnet in colour, and Wow, again in aromas. Errazuriz is really showing itself well here. Cassis, cedar, granite, baking spices, strawberry.
Wonderfully balanced, and structured on the palate, wine shining character to boast.

Errázuriz Don Maximiano Red Blend 2009, Valle de Aconcagua, Chile: European elegance meets New World cncentration and power. This wine has it all: spectacular dark fruit flavour, great strcture and a finish that (almost) lasts until you open the next bottle (you hope). This is Chile's icon flagship wine: drink it to understand both where the country has been and where it's going. Superb! Drink: 2013-2018. 501247 14% XD 750 mL $79.95 Score: 94/100.
