Cora Beaulieu rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

Beautiful nose of wild berries, licorice, and crushed rose petals. Wonderfully rich & ripe with flavors that don’t overwhelm. Full-bodied, but balanced and delicious. With layered flavors of blackberries, ripe black cherries and blueberries, some plum and with the slightest touch of smoky pepper and creamy oak, creating balance with notes of acidity and tannins. Rich ruby-red color. Finishes with a long, lush velvety mouthfeel. We aerated the wine because we noticed a little sediment, so the wine was served at room temperature. Since Zinfandel leans on the sweeter side of red wine, we decided to pair it with our dinner of “Sweet and Spicy Shrimp with Rice Noodles”, can be found at CookingLight [http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/sweet-spicy-shrimp] Although not the greatest of pairings was still enjoyable.
Mark Cochrane Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 97/100 with the following review:

A great example of the classic Sonoma Zinfandel. Aromas of blackberry, licorice, black pepper and menthol with rich favours of fig and black cherry. A nice long smooth finish of fig makes the 15% alcohol hardly noticeable. Very impressive.

Natalie's Review

Seghesio Sonoma Zinfandel 2009, Sonoma County, California, United States: Vintages Wine Panel: The Seghesio name has been a part of Sonoma's Zinfandel story since 1895. Today, sourcing grapes from vines averaging 25-30 years in age, they produce some of the best Zins going. Their 2007 was #10 on Wine Spectator's Top 100 list of 2008 - certainly no fluke. Their 2009 shows notes of raspberry, blackberry and subtle spice. Demonstrating great structure, this is an elegant Zin. My note: Wonderfully rich and ripe with flavours that don’t overwhelm. It’s hard to believe that this is 15% alcohol as it certainly doesn’t taste that robust. Full-bodied, yes, but balanced and delicious. Drink: 2011-2016. 942151 14.80% D 750 mL  $29.95 Score: 92/100.
